Why doesn't Trump talk about White Nationalism?

So many on here seem to deflect away from the fact that Trump is sympathetic to White nationalism and supremacy groups. The question is why does he refuse to acknowledge it as a problem?

Good article from Salon on this:

    https://www.salon.com/2019/03/18/wh...tionalism-because-he-enables-and-supports-it/

Before dismissing it as being from Salon, it brings up good factual points. For instance that he has a double standard in his reaction to minorities who commit terrorist attacks and white people who do. Furthermore, he uses the language of white nationalism as well.

    Why is that?

Because he knows he'd lose a lot of support firstly.

Unfortunately, White Nationalism has been on the rise since Trump has taken office, this is not a coincidence. Their ideas are even reaching mainstream now. The whole "Diversity is bad" propaganda bit is bold and clear in its message that Ethnostates good, Diversity bad. Trump openly cheers for news anchors on his favorite propaganda network to call people invaders and whatnot.

These people (WNs) have a whole network that operates in plain open but also doublespeak with the goal being to radicalize as many people as possible but to do so with just the right amount of vagueness so that they can deny their racism. "Oh, not talking about races! I'm just defending the values of the west." stuff like that.

Reading that guy's manifesto was nothing new to me. It's stuff I've seen all over the net for years now and it's been growing and growing, I was told once before that bad ideas die off, yet here it is, getting stronger. Watching the reaction of his manifesto is quite terrifying, you have people on the Chans openly saying "It's time to fight back...It's time..." and other similar communities basically signaling it is time. You have a congressman spreading the idea that if the US were to balkanize (another idea championed in these circles) and there is a growing number of people that agree.

This group is not much different than other modern-day terrorist organizations. Their recruitment methods are similar, targeting men that feel they don't have much to live for, Incels and such...and they fight for the same purpose, for some identity that they feel needs protecting...and after this one they will go quiet, retreat into the darker recesses of the web (private discord channels...forums...) until the next one slips through and shoots up another place with Jewish or non-white people.

So while you have this shooting going on you have people like Identity Evropa who are trying to convert the GOP (and from where I'm sitting, they are pretty successful) into a White Nationalist party.

Trump doesn't talk about it because he's playing the role of White Moderate, a role you'll see many people play every time this happens. They'll show their empathy, they will cry about it, but they will do nothing to stop it from happening again. Not even speak out on it. Because they know, either subconsciously or not, that they would benefit from what the WNs propose...so why take a side? They can afford to sit out such a conflict and can afford to play neutral.

Just say both sides are bad even though one side is supporting genocide. Today's racist won't OPENLY say "Yes, I support genocide and wish to kill all non-white people." but they will tell you that Diversity isn't good and that people just want to be around their own and if they are too far gone they will tell you that they would never support violence (lol) but maybe we can peacefully move people (lol) so that we can create these white utopias. Even this guy, this shooter, claimed that he's fine with other races as long as they basically obey his desire to get out of countries he deems as land belonging to his people.

Hey, do as I say or I'll punch you in the mouth! What? I'm very peaceful if you just do what I say.

What JayGoogle said pretty much. Trump and his cronies have used so many dogwhistling tactics that I've lost count. Some very fine people, bikers, there will be violence, etc. At the end of the day there's a threshold of morality that is expected out of most people and companies. It's why the recession was so bad. Companies know they have a responsibility to not totally **** over consumers with balloon loans and vague user agreements. But they don't care. They just claim it's the consumers fault for not reading it right. I don't believe in screwing people over just because you can. Technically they didn't do anything wrong even though they knew they were destroying people's financial lives by leading them to an economic slaughterhouse. It's like blaming the deer for not understanding it's hunting season.

The same is expected out of politicians. Trump has completely done away with that. He has no morality. I'm not sure why that is, if he's just downright looney or racist or both. At this point the Republican party has completely lost it's sense of morality. It's not about doing what's right, it's about winning. And that means screwing over however many people they need to so that they can win.

I've taken political tests and I actually come out more conservative than liberal. I disagree with A LOT of liberal agenda in regards to economics. Probably most of it lol. I do see Republicans as totally lost at this point, giving in to a total madman that's hijacked the party by basically tapping into the lowest hanging emotional fruit he can.

The whole white nationalism topic is such a bogeyman topic. In the United States, their numbers are infinitesimal and their political influence is almost non-existent. Every white nationalist event I've ever seen has had the number of participants dwarfed by counter protesters usually by a multiplier of 10 or more.

Estimated membership of the Klan in the United states - Klan groups are active in most US states and are estimated to have between 5,000 and 8,000 members, according to the SPLC.

Estimated membership in Neo-Nazi associations - There are several high-profile neo-Nazi organisations in the US, including the American Nazi Party and the National Socialist Movement (NSM). The most visible of these groups is the National Alliance (NA). A spin-off of the NA, Vanguard America, participated in the "Unite the Right" march on 12 August 2017 that left one woman dead and dozens of protesters and counter-protesters injured following clashes. The most recent membership figures for the NA, for 2012, are estimated to be at least 2,500, while an article published in the New York Times in 2011 said that the NSM consisted of about 400 members.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40915356- (added the - because the link wasn't working otherwise)

You're probably talking about 10 - 20k of these folks in the entire country. You could literally learn every person in the NA and NSM by name. These people shouldn't be ignored but they are given a disproportionate amount of attention, largely because "Nazis" sell newspapers and drive clicks and because a large part of the media has been politically motivated to associate the GOP and Nazi's for years and years, even before Trump.

This new brand of the GOP relies heavily on wanna be macho men. From guns to the place of males in society, it seems this new GOP relies on the men usually picked last in kick ball.

I think “white nationalism” has evolved into a manifesto from the men who can’t hack it in a global society. Protectionism and xenophobia is just the means.

You might be correct, but ...

I suspect that there are 30+% of the voting populace that do not hold Trump's white nationalist rhetoric against him. This 30+% are not hard core racists.

Would it be fair to say that there are tens of thousands of folks that covertly identify as white nationalists? In essence, they don't belong to a group like the clan or neo-nazis, but identify with their belief system.

I think it is vitally important for Conservatives to separate racism from their beliefs...thankfully, I think there are a lot that realize this, but a lot are reacting rather slowly to the attempts to take over their party.

You should read the article linked in my post about Identity Evropa. They know they don't represent the majority, that's why they plan to infiltrate the GOP to sell their ideas to the mainstream. It has worked. Flat out, it has worked. You have Fox News preaching that Diversity is Bad, that means it worked. You have Fox News telling its viewers that Mexicans and Immigrants are invaders. It has worked. You have a Fox News anchor saying Islam is incompatible with American constitution...and the president backing this anchor...You now have a near majority of GOP voters that think that Diversity is not good for the country. I wonder how you stop Diversity. If you subvert a political party, as history has shown, it's not a very big step to increase your numbers by leaps and bounds. Identity Evropa knows its hard to sell racism and they actively tell their members to hide such racism. They've now changed their name to American Identity or something foolish because they know this. The idea is to smuggle racist ideas into the mainstream and it is working, so no, it's not a boogeyman topic.

It's actual racist propaganda that now has a footing in our political discussions. Their goal all along was to shift the overton window and the less people that freak out about what we are actually discussing is the more proof to me, and others for that matter, that they have succeeded. The fact that I've had to argue 'Race Realism' here on Clutchfans of all places with several users is to me a sign. The fact that Trump once tweeted out black crime stats is more proof to me. The fact that Tucker Carlson is on primetime television railing against 'Diversity' is more proof that they have succeeded and will continue to grow (As even the FBI says they are growing) unless people that actually care (and not just give fake empathy for every shooting) speak up against it.

I don't know your beliefs or whatever as I've not seen you post much down here, but a lot of people will always downplay this rise of White Nationalism because they want to believe that racism is dead.

The reason I used the term White Moderate because this is exactly it.

There are a lot of people that will not consider themselves racist, may even have 'black friends' and family members, or Mexican friends or family members, whatever the case, they will do nothing and play neutral as the illness takes over.

Also, while the SPLC would agree that the KKK isn't at its height, their report is that hate groups as a whole are on the rise.
    https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/intelligence-report/issues/rage-against-change

Also, a lot of modern day racists think the KKK as silly LARPers. Old hillbillies that play dress up and do little else and are bad for 'optics'. The KKK is a modern day boogeyman, although they have seen an increase of membership recently, today's racist is all about being subvert and 'Hiding His Power Level'.

    Want proof?

This stuff is all over the chans, the discords, reddit, everywhere. There was a reddit discord reveal that pretty much had tons of chat logs with Identity Evropa members talking about their plans to push their racist propaganda into the mainstream.

Yea, obviously if racism is a spectrum, with Klan members/ Neo-Nazi group members on the far end there are some amount that still fall into a pretty nasty category. Tens of thousands would probably be fair.

To be clear we're talking in terms of something like 180 Million White Americans.

I could have predicted the calls of the SPLC being a witch hunt organization or something similar when literally all they do is call out racism. Not sure how anyone could be against that but...read the article I linked, go to the site, everything they report on is backed with proof, screencaps, so on and so on. If you don't believe screencaps seriously, I could link you to the places these people congregate and you can decide if they are racist or not.

People are going with these 'tards' as they've already pushed out the main tenet of their propaganda. People are openly on national television arguing about whether Diversity is bad or not. This was their goal and it was accomplished. Just like their goals to chip away at the power and voice of their enemies like the SLPC and ADL.

Don't believe the SLPC, which, unfortunately, today is a popular refrain from right-wingers nowadays...but do you believe the FBI?

How do you know it isn't Russian bots? Or SPLC interns? Who the hell cares about some a holes on a message board with no identity and ideas that main stream Amercan will reject (heh the irony)? Repealing the 1965 immigration act in favor of a pro white one? Are you seriously worried? You need to get out of YOUR echo chamber.

Does it matter if it's Russian bots? It really doesn't seeing as their goal is not far from Russia's in the end and Russia would love to cause further division in the country...

Their talking points and propaganda is still getting out to the mainstream in the USA, whether they be Russian or...SLPC false flaggers, apparently...

Your argument is even more conspiratorial and filled with paranoia. That the SLPC itself is running a racist discord...for years...to later put out proof that racist ideas are growing again in America. Maybe they were behind Identity Evropa all this time, right? One huge false flag attempt for a nonprofit organization born out of the civil rights movement to get more money...and you call me paranoid.

If the SLPC goes "Hey, here's some racists..." and your response to that is "WITCHHUNT" then I think you seriously need to sit and think about the side you find yourself on.

The whole point is that I am teasing you about them being Russian bots, and making a point, because this is the kind of crap the far left pushes when it is convenient... but hey maybe they are eh comrade? Maybe I am too? No, it is a conspiracy is it? Gee, I wonder if that has some truth to it about some other people who said it in other situations? Hmm, we wouldn't want to go there would we?

Also the SPLC has every motive in the world to lie and is not trustworthy because it simply fits the narrative that you want to hear to confirm your insane views on how everyone is racist. The SPLC needs to be relevant, get in the media, and get donations. Those people in charge of it would lose huge salaries and are not trustworthy. Just because it is a nonprofit, doesn't mean someone isn't getting paid and it certainly doesn't mean they are not political in nature. You are a fool if you think otherwise. And I know you think otherwise, because you are a fool as evidence by our past interactions. I am willing to bet you believe everything they have though. You don't think they could be foreign actors or SPLC, or other groups faking hate comments. Because no one fakes hate crimes or would fake hate comments would they? Jussie Smollet and the other recent fakers might disagree though.
