    Thank God these guys stopped this idiot. More Islamic terrorism, but thankfully these guys saved the day. The train passengers would have been sitting ducks with no place to go.

    France train shooting: Hollande thanks 'heroes' who foiled gunman

    French President Francois Hollande has thanked three American men hailed as heroes for overpowering a heavily-armed gunman on a train in northern France.
    The incident happened on the high-speed Thalys service near Arras on Friday. A 26-year-old Moroccan man was arrested.
    One of the Americans said they took an AK-47 assault rifle and a handgun from the attacker as they saw him walk down the aisle of the train.
    One of the Americans and another passenger were seriously hurt.
    In a press conference on Saturday, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the suspect's identity had yet to be confirmed, but it was believed that he had radical Islamist beliefs.
    'Chokehold'
    Two of the American men who overpowered the gunman, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos, are members of the Air Force and the National Guard respectively.
    They were travelling on the train from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday evening with a childhood friend, Anthony Sadler, who also helped restrain the attacker.

    When a French passenger tried to enter a toilet on the train, he encountered the gunman, tried to overpower him and the gun was then fired, Mr Cazeneuve said.
    A French-American passenger was injured by the bullet, and the American passengers intervened shortly afterward, he said.
    "Spencer got to the guy first and grabbed the guy by the neck," Mr Skarlatos told Sky News.
    "I grabbed the handgun, got that away from the guy and threw it. Then I grabbed the AK-47, which was at his feet, and started muzzle-bumping him in the head with it.
    "Everybody just started beating the guy while Spencer held the chokehold until he went unconscious."

    Why do conservatives always look to paint us as the unconditional good guys who are doing nothing more than apprehending bad guys whom are bad simply because their religion is innately evil?

    Great story and a nice find, texxx. This could have ended in carnage, but some brave passengers, three of them Americans, saved the day. If only all attempted terrorist acts ended this way.

    Probably because there is nothing to debate. Islamic terrorism is considered bad by liberals and conservatives.

    Don't confuse condoning terrorism with the actual point of contention between liberals and conservatives regarding Muslims in the matter of how to treat and label Muslims who have no affiliation to terrorism.

    That guy had what looks like at least 9 spare AK mags, who knows how many more in the bag. Wasn't dicking around.

    It puts pressure on the moderates to stop snickering behind closed doors and allowing an ideology of hate to be taken literally. Make no mistake about it - they absolutely can diminish these attacks if they applied themselves. It's the faux ignorance that makes them just as guilty.

    Threads highlighting Islamic terrorism are of vital importance to our future.

    A real big question I'm wondering about is how did this guy get those weapons?

    As I noted above I think it is an important question of how he got those weapons. At the same time though I think France is doing quite well in regards to gun control and even there was this attack and the Charlie Hebdo attacks France per capita still has much less gun violence than the US.

    Considering the US murder rate via guns is 15 times that of France I'm betting no. Might be time to stop posting nonsense.

    The threat from terrorists such as the Charlie Hebdo Islamist terrorists and this Islamist terrorist seems to be significantly higher in Europe, though, with more of a Muslim population that is on average less "moderate" than the one in the USA (and with harder to control borders/closer proximity to places such as Syria and Saudi Arabia, etc.).

    The issue here is not gun control. The issue is Islamist terror. Terrorists manage to get their hands on guns, why do you act as if that surprises you? :rolleyes:

    and they do so no matter what the gun laws. The islamic terror part of this story is so repetitive it is expected. 18-30 year old male muslim terrorists are the norm.

    It is nice to see this terrorist POS hogtied and asskicked though
