I thought that was bush league as well. you’re getting your ass kicked, and somehow that justifies throwing at a hitter? And that’s an accepted unwritten rule? just bizarre thinking.
Would be very typical of baseball to choose outdoor potentially cold weather sites like NY and Chicago, over climate controlled and/or perfect weather sites.
Would love nothing more than Robert Manfred handing the Astros a piece of metal at The Grill err Globe Life Field. Actually against a bubble. You're already doing it, let 'em play in their home stadiums.
It's extremely rare, but teams have come back from 7 run deficits in the 9th before (happened to the Astros in 2000). No team has ever come back from being down more than 7 runs in the 9th. I would prefer there to be no chance of a comeback over even a miniscule chance. I've got no problem with Tatis swinging in that situation. Thom Brennaman, come on down! Statement from Fox Sports Ohio: "The language that Thom Brennaman used this evening is hateful, offensive, and in no way reflects the values of FOX Sports Ohio. We agree with the Reds decision to suspend him until further notice."
And I love that Machado hit a walk-off grand slam off the Rangers. Maybe MLB will ask him to apologize.
At least Rangers fans are self-aware... https://www.lonestarball.com/2020/8/19/21376820/texas-rangers-lose-6-3-in-extras-san-diego-padres
