Steph Curry: “That was probably one of the hardest series we’ve ever played in.”

On the Bill Simmons podcast. Bill has always been very dismissive about the Rockets’ performance, but Curry himself says it was (one of) the hardest series he’s played in. Bill couldn’t believe it, and still tries to convince Steph that he’s wrong.

Man, if only CP didn’t go down...

Funny to listen to Bill Simmons on these pods get put in his place. Not sure what his deal is with Houston. Obviously he is friendly with Morey. But it seems Simmons doesn't like the Rockets "style of play" and thus that taints all of his opinions on the team.

Simmons talking about how the Rockets had "great injury luck" last season when it was 100% the opposite. Simmons is not dumb. He should know this, but for his narrative he changes it.

Simmons talking about the Rockets with Bob Voulgaris is funny too because Bob puts Simmons in his place on a number of topics regarding the Rockets offense and how they play.

What is frustrating about Simmons is he IS SMART. But he let's his "narrative" change how he frames things. Just let the facts be the facts.

Yeah, for a guy who has such an encyclopedic knowledge of the NBA going back decades, seems a bit strange for him to be so mistaken about a Rockets season that just happened. As you said, he's probably spinning things to fit some bias / narrative.

Simmons is the kind of guy where you can throw quality analysis and facts his way on how the Rockets will be good and he will come back with "I just feel like the Rockets are due for a let down season."

    "I just feel."

No one provide the link, please. Bill Simmons doesn't need any more site traffic. That dude is a douche and a half a media "bro" providing a voice for people going through a mid-life crisis desperately trying to maintain relevancy. I liked what he did back in the day with Grantland (best of all giving Zach Lowe a platform), but the Ringer thing has gotten old and increasingly more obnoxious and he puts dumb sports bro "feels" ahead of sound basketball knowledge. At this point it just feels like he is angling to be the face of TMZ Sports so he can continue to rake in the privilege afforded to media celebs in the LA area. There are more interesting sports writers/personalities out there - take a hard pass with his Podcast/Ringer network.

We'll be talking about game 7 the way the Cubs talked about the Bartman game. FOREVER until we win a Championship

The season just needs to start and we just need to win. Winning shuts people up and changes the narrative. It did last year. When there aren't any games to disprove the narrative, people like simmons just revert back to their old perceptions. It is what is it....no changing it. Rockets just need to let their play shut everyone up.

Didn't Luhnow prove that stats and gut need to go hand-and-hand... and he's the only active GM in the big 3 sports that has a ring...

Did Bill Simmons forget that Klay Thompson said he couldn't wait for the series to be over because it was so tough? Klay said that during the series.

The hate for Simmons is funny...
He's a guy, with an opinion.
Of course he'll be biased at times.
Way more annoying about him is the constant Boston talk.
Which many fans obviously don't care about.
I don't care about your dad, Bill Simmons!!

But that said, he's still an enjoyable listen and he does know basketball.
He's just biased to some things like anyone else would be.
He also, being in his position, has to put predictions out there.
And that means you'll be wrong a lot.... even if you're knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, the season won't "start" until the playoffs.
