Are you trying to have a meta conversation here asking the if there is any point of having a discussion in the D&D
I agree a lot with @Nook . It isn't that I excuse the violence and lawlessness, but when someone is murdered on video and the authorities who abused their power and committed the murder aren't even arrested, it shows that our society doesn't treat people equally. It is more acceptable for some people to be killed. Their lives appear to matter less. When these examples are shown, it is hard to encourage buy-in to the society that created this situation. The best way to stop the rioting, looting, and mob violence is to fix the problems at the root of it all. That will fix that problem and also reduce the rioting and looting. Our focus should be on the cause, not the symptoms.
Bush Sr was a bit of a crook though (maybe an understatement) dating back to his time at the CIA. Actually, the crookedness started with his father. I know I'll catch flak around here for that, but it's true. Prescott was a straight up swamp dweller of Washington crook.
Taken as a whole, you got vigilantes shooting down joggers and "scary looking kids" holding Skittles while seemingly unbiased commentators are saying "the vigilantes should've let law enforcement handle it" Now when there's continuously consistent evidence of how law enforcement "handles things", are the riots that ensure a commentary of "marginalized thugs" or a system that's designed as intended? The most limp response to riots is to condemn them while acknowledging the circumstances. Clamping down hard at least admits the system is ****ed without a will nor inclination to fix it
Catch flak for calling Bush Sr. out? Not from me. Pappi Bush had his hands in almost every political 'event' since the 60's. I read somewhere (no link) that the oil company he owned back in the day, owned the rigs that were used for staging for the Bay of Pigs failed invasion. The guy worked behind the scene and it goes without saying, he was the CIA Director, etc... He's long been CIA. Bush Jr. couldn't hold Sr's 'strap when it comes to power. He had to pardon Casper Weinberger & friends or his name was gonna come up during the Iran-Contra deal. There's a 99.5% chance he ran it. I like to leave people an out, so I'm giving him 0.5%....lol. He helped the intel community create the political powerhouse they've become today.
Umbrella and the way he is the only one ever who felt like they had to immediately run away from a protest like they're about to get busted. But yeah per Occam's razor it's probably your option C above. Maybe a random dude who needs some expensive part for his car. Arrives at the protest early to make sure he gets to it before everything's gone and the fire starts. Doesn't know protest protocol, brings umbrella. Then after too long of awkwardly standing in the corner of the parking lot, watching everyone just loitering around & zero building penetration, he's thinking "come on guys isn't anyone going to do something here?!" Finally says F'it I'll brick this window. Then instantly panics, tries to run away, but everyone says hold on wtf who's that, and chases him. Edit nm just saw xenon's video of the actual act. That was way too calm, deliberate, and methodical.
Not to make light of situation but cops saw that late model Mercedes and they must have thought they was arresting a 'fresh Prince of bel-air' impersonator. SMH.
Hmm so strange. I didn't see you (or your buddy Tallanvar) post anything in this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...r-armed-protests.305221/page-22#post-12963932 Yet here you are denouncing this crime.
He's obviously intelligent enough to understand the context of this event and this thread yet he still chose to go with with the term. Those are the words of closet racists. Hell if those aren't his people from his city near his own damn neighborhood then he has no people. Insert trite D&D phrase here. Now we'll have the avalanche of Trumpists showing video and pictures of looters much like the stupid Walgreens in Ferguson, never fails. The same people who are willfully ignorant about why these riots happen decade after decade in this country and swallow their gum in their clutch my pearl moments decrying the violence precipitated by another murder.
How do you suggest African Americans air our grievances with decades of systemic racism and police brutality?
You mean that if you treat people with dignity and respect you probably won’t have to worry about them become frustrated with systemic mistreatment and revolting? It can’t be that simple!
Frey's response has been far more poignant and human than literally anything Trump has done in his life.
CNN Crew just got arrested for reporting on how for the first time, order was being restored. They say they were standing where they were told, doing what they were told. Video shows they weren't really doing anything obtuse. Cops wouldn't give a reason why they were being arrested. Guess it's Marshall law time. That's not going to sit well with people there...
