Way before our time but it's the ultimate sin if we don't include Robert Johnson in this thread. After all, he did sell his soul to the devil down at the crossroads for his musical talents. He should be in everyone's top five by default and we will just assume you don't have to name him. He was doing it long before anyone else was that are on the lists. He's easy to overlook because his career was brief and he wasn't playing a bunch of fancy venues versus mostly street corners and such. At a minimum, he had some influence that ultimately ended up shaping some of your faves, e.g. influenced Keith Richards and Eric Clapton...who went on to influence...etc. .
