The rockets would have beaten the nuggets or blazers without homecourt advantage

I’m not sure the Rockets have a philosophy problem. We’re 10-10 over the last 20 against the Warriors. Results in the playoffs are obviously the ultimate indicator and we’re on the losing end but these are very closely contested matches. I’ll buy into any changes that make us better but you’re going to see roster changes before you see significant philosophy changes.... and that may be all we need.

Are they watching their star player get carried by their 2nd best player?

If he’s critiquing the Rockets here, he’s an idiot. Lol at the thought of the Rockets not advocating their guys to take the best shot they can. These guys just parrot what everyone else thinks they know.

If fully healthy Blazers cannot beat GS without KD/Demarcus then there can be valid comparison.. but that is hypothetical since Blazers is not fully healthy and KD may come back for the series.

Fully healthy Blazers (with Nurkic) is a good team. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat this year's rockets.

Blazers beat OKC..i'm not sure Rockets could beat OKC .

There are few lessons from the game for Rockets:

    1. If they can play injured Kanter and win...so we could play Faried. Faried is defensively not worse than Kanter.
    2. All players except center do not have to be 3 point shooters specially if they are athletic enough. Harkless/Evan Turner are not good 3 point shooters by any means but they are athletic and can defend.
    3. Value of mid range 2.
    4. Play 2 big men at the same time on the floor (Kanter/Zach Collins) for a decent amount of time.
    5. Make adjustments during the game and come up with different starting 5 after half time.
    6. Don't dribble until the defense is set and shot clock about to expire.

Harden has never been an elite mid range player. He was:

    34.4% from 20-24ft
    36.4% from 15-19ft
    46.5% from 10-14ft
    49.2% from 5-9ft

Stop watching highlights and you won't need to look at stats either.

Lmao is this thread for real? They beat the Nuggets and it took them 7 games. We would beat the nuggets in 4 or 5. People are acting like they just took out the Warriors.

We don't need lessons on how to beat the Nuggets.

Jeez what is with all these subliminal shots from players lmao. I think our shot-selection was probably 5th or 6th in terms of ranking the reasons why we lost. Our best midrange player had free rein to shoot them and basically chose not to hunt that shot until game 6.

The way both of these teams played today, they would’ve gotten annhilated by the Warriors, that big shot by CJ wouldn’t have even been a possibility pity by the 4th.

That being said I hope the blazers show out against the dubs, Lillard has to be better than today.

I'm curious what our regular season record against the Nuggets is.....I'm pretty sure we didn't sweep them.

The analytics heavily favor the midrange shot in this situation so he's just putting his ignorance of analytics on display here

They were without their starting center. I do not think we would beat the nuggets in 4 or 5 without Capela, although he's been rubbish vs Warriors.

Remember late in the 3rd quarter in Game 4 when the Warriors had cut the Rockets' 17-point lead to 4? We were in desperate need of a bucket and it wound up being a pullup midrange jumper. By Shumpert of all people(probably because he hadn't been brainwashed yet to stop taking them).
