Yao's stats so far this season compared to Kevin Garnett:

    Yao
MIN FG 3P FT STL BLK TO PF OFF DEF TOT AST PTS
    37.4 31-71 0-0 26-27 0.2 1.0 1.6 2.6 2.4 7.0 9.4 1.2 17.6

    KG
    32.2 35-73 0-0 8-12 1.4 0.6 2.8 1.8 1.6 8.2 9.8 1.4 15.6

I am trying to make two points: 1. Yao's numbers are comparable to KG's. Yao with slightly lower FG% but with much higher freethrow attempt rate. So even when Yao's having an "abysmal" season so far according to some fans, his numbers may not be as terrible as people make them sound. After all, we haven't heard any Boston fans discuss the idea of trading KG.

    2. Yao's playing 37.4 minutes per game, compared with KG's 32.2, and Yao's average is including a game in foul trouble. Not counting that game, Yao's averaging right around 40 minutes per game. That's too many minutes for a 7-footer, especially one with a history of injuries.

I hope this will stop any more "trade Yao now!" calls on this board.

    kg plays 5 less minutes.

and his offensive struggles are really not the problem b/c he'll most likely bounce back. i'm not sure his rebounding and defense will. his legs look like they're in mud.

Difference- KG is playing DPOY-level defense while Yao is letting everyone and their mother get easy layups with his abysmal rotations.

you must be doing some stupid Jackie Chan stunts if you think the Rockets will trade Yao Ming.

Hello, he makes so much money for the Rockets and he has devoted followers who only care about Yao. He's like Jesus to many people.

He'll never be traded, Les Alexander is a business man first. Stop worrying about it. Who cares if Glen Davis or La Marcus Aldridge or Bill Russell or Jerome Kersey outrebounded him, its only been 5 games.

    Yaos last two games.

    4-14 shooting 28% 8 points against the C's.

Tonight 4-13 13 points only 6 rebounds in 42 minutes.

Besides the dallas game he is been average at best. against memphis he shot the ball 6-14 42% and against the OKC he shot it at 6-15 at 40%. the only reason his numbers look ok is because of that dallas game. expect his average to take a farthar knock after tonight horrible showing

Exactly, is it Yao's fault that Bill Russell out rebounded him in that Celtics game? Maybe Chuck Hayes should have helped him out.

Fair enough. but it still dosent take away the fact is comical to say both yao and kg are having similar season. fact is KG is playing alot better. numbers arent allways everything. For example KG was making clutch plays the other night while yao playing like an scrub at the sametime. KG?>>>>>>>Yao. i would take KG over yao everyday of the week

No more abysmal than the starting guards that can't keep their men in front of them.

Yeah, its tough for Yao when the Blazers have Aldrige, Kenny Thomas, and Willie Nelson on that front line

I guess its another game On the road again for the Rockets

Yao got to bring his arm and leg strengths back as soon as possible. He doesn't look as strong as he was before. That might be the reason that he was easily pushed away by the defenders and lost the position for the rebounds. Since he's not strong enough, he can't back down the defender to create enough space for jumpshots. If he forces the shot, he will be easily blocked since his shot is well anticipated. The fact that he was jamed by the rim several times in only five games shows that he has lost strength in his legs due to his foot injury.

Big fella, bring back your strength and confidence. ASAP!
