http://blogs.chron.com/franblinebury/2007/04/roadkill_at_home_warriors_110.html OK, you've been wanting Bonzi and Spanoulis for the entire season. Tonight you'll get your wish. Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming will both sit out the game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Both are bothered by pain in their backs. "This all took me by surprise," said head coach Jeff Van Gundy. He practiced (Thursday) and looked OK. He came to me after practice and said that it's been bothering him for a couple of games. I told (trainer) Keith (Jones) and Keith talked to Yao. "Even though he hasn't exactly been durable in his career, Yao isn't the kind of guy who likes to miss games. He's had injuries that have forced him out. But he's a guy who always wants to play when he can."
ok not exactly how i wished it, but i'm glad bonzi will get a shot tonight, and v-mac is always nice to see.... hopefully novak will get some time too.
So Yao and Mac are tanking games now? Or may be they're both unhappy with JVG or something and trying to send him a message. Interesting 'coincidence', I don't see why Yao wouldn't play, he's never had any back problems in the past to my knowledge. "Stiff back" is the operative word...
According Sohu, Yao had back prlblem for about two games. I think this is true. At this point of the season, we need to be more cautious with players' health. but I don't think it is a serious problem
oh i think you forgot we made the playoffs. its calling resting. we're playing utah. its set in stone.
Remind me to not pick any Rockets players on my Salary Cap fantasy team. Everyone on my damn team gets injured, I just picked Yao up like yesterday too.
i think this is good... Rest the star players and play the bench since homecourt isnt really going to make the difference
Yeah, thats exactly how it works...How about there are only few games left, we are locked into the 5 seed with a miracle needed to catch Utah, so we are not risking out playoff future? We currently have nothing to gain and everything to lose (if Yao or Mac get hurt) for the rest of the season.
