    Forbes has Yao earning $28.4 million good enough for 21st place on the world's top earning athletes. Tmac is 22nd with $28.2 mill. After all the scandals Tiger is still number 1. My boy Messi is 26th but should quickly move up that list

    Rarely would you like to come in 21st in something. But I would gladly accept 21st, with an income of 28 Million. :cool:

    I read somewhere that Yao has to give half of his salary to China governmant, is that true?

    totally not true.

    Yao is taxed about that many the US government.

    At least 50% from the USA if he pays the same taxes as a citizen.

    In China, every married adult male has to give up his salary 5% to his wife and 85% to Chinese Government.

    It is true. If the US could tax 100%, they would. They only tax about 50%, because the other 50% is sent to China. Yao's house is owned by the Chinese government. I heard it from Prime Minister Wen Jiabao on Chinese radio. :p
