With the 1st pick in the 2012 NBA DRAFT MYYY New Orleans Hornets, OOPS! I mean THE New Orleans Hornets select.... Would you be surprised if the unprotected T-wolves pick that was traded to New Orleans & their own lotto pick landed in the top 3? King Stern may pull this if no owner is found before the lotto. If Kaman comes off the books & you amnesty Okafor their cap situation improves dramatically. You throw in 2 of the top picks in the NBA Draft and.... well you get the picture. You could then attract a buyer so the owners can divi up the NBA's cover charge for membership to their owner's club. It maybe best for the league but would your confidence in the NBA be shaken? I can hear Stern laughing now. BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it does happen expect there to be a LOT of backlash... but I wouldn't put anything past them at this point. Their best bet is to have the lotto live in front of cameras regardless.
i think twolves can make the playoffs this year, or atleast be right there in the 9th or 10th spot in the west...so their chances of getting the 1st pick are very unlikely
I agree. With Rick leading this young group I think they will do just fine and will prob benefit from the condensed schedule (young).
honestly its not ONLY because of adelman...look at their line up randolph/darko love williams/beasly wes johnson/lee rubio/ridnour that team is GOOD with or without adelman. adelman makes them DANGEROUS, please do not be suprised if they make the playoffs. im not saying they are top 4-5 teams in the west with lakers, mavs, clippers, spurs, thunder....but they are right behind with those teams alongside the blazers and grizzlies
You do realize that the lottery is done by Ernst and young right, and representatives from all 30 teams are allowed to be present during the actual drawing. If it was rigged, then it wouldn't be easy.
I think they have a very good potential to be on the same level as memphis THIS season if everything goes well. atleast by after the all star break.
I won't be surprised at all if they make the playoffs, I also won't be surprised if they are the 12/13th team in the west either. The whole west is pretty evenly balanced talent-wise imho other than the top five Thunder, Lakers, Clippers, Spurs and Mavs and the bottom Hornets... everyone in between is about on the same level.
yea i agree...besides the bottom hornets, and the top teams...all other teams are very even with (in my opinion) memphis blazers and twolves (in that order) have the best chances of making the playoffs over the warriors, rockets, kings
Lakers Mavericks Oklahoma City Clippers San Antonio Memphis Portland ? is <s>Memphis</s> Minnesota really better than Denver or a even Phoenix? I don't think so.
Denver's best players are Nene, Ty Lawson, Gallinari Phoenix's best players are Nash, Hill, Frye?Gortat? Memphis is boasting Randolph, Gasol, Gay, Conley, with other nice pieces like tony allen
:grin: hahah but yes, i think the twolves have the potential this season to be much better than denver and phoenix
****, that's already 7 spots filled! Jeez. No way Minnesota makes it in. Hell, I don't even think we can crack the top 8.
