Would Jabari benefit from being put on the Giannis strength and conditioning program?

I’m sorry but his size and frailness will always bother me. I know he’s not as athletically gifted as Giannis but i think he would benefit from putting on 10-15 pounds of muscle . I’ve the course of two season. Jabari has the mentality, but he doesn’t have the body for the physicality. Giannis was almost as small as Jabari when he first came in the league. Jason Kidd and the bucks had a vision and plan for him. Horry put on muscle and pounds. And it didn’t hurt his jump shot. And Horry is a much more consistent shooter than Jabari. Strengthening up would also help him with his gripping of the ball because he loses the ball a lot on rebounds

Yes. But this doesn't happen overnight (legally). He's getting there.

Man, have you seen him in person? If you think he's frail then I expect you better look like prime Lou Ferrigno. That kid is already broad in his shoulders. He will continue to add strength, sure, but he's by no means frail now. He's already strong. It's fairly rare for guys of his size to be built sturdier at this age. Now Giannis was frail when he entered the league.

Trade off strength v speed. Even extra lean muscles is weight. He's currently mobile but not the fastest already against other smaller faster SF.

At PF, current weight is ok. There's room for a little more, but not sold on the Giannis type. If Bari adds too much weight might head towards C territory at too early of an age.

Looking at guys like AD (age 30) for example, as he put on muscle (too much now). AD is slower, too slow at PF, have to play C.

Current NBA, JJJ/Chet/Wemby mold, value speed and quickness over slowness and strength: the Hiberts, the Drummonds are valued less today. Switch defense is limited when you're slow.

It's easy to put on weight, much harder to lose it.

Yes, he needs to continue to get stronger and build his endurance.

It’s a process, and I think he’s been doing well.

Your boy Jaygup looked like Schwarzenegger in his first year in comparison.

Yes, Bari is a bit athletically limited. He can’t put the ball on the floor, he doesn’t finish well at the rim, takes too long to get set when shooting and doesn’t make quick decisions. But the one thing Im convinced of: Bari will get stronger and it will significantly improve his game. I don’t think we’ll really know what we have in Bari until he grows into his body. I’m all for a bulked up Bari. That usually takes a little time.

I think bulking up the next couple years is the way to go for him because he does not have the natural scoring skills like KD who can remain slim and still be deadly.

It is important that he does, so that mentally he can be more physical more consistently. Alperen too. We need both guys to put on legitimate man strength with Steven Adams this offseason.

I disagree with the notion that every pound of muscle you add has a direct decrease on speed. It's not that 1:1.

I look forward to seeing Jabari bulk up and get ragdolled a bit less in the post. I trust that it will come with time.

Him and Jalen both need to bulk up this offseason.
