Just received my Congratulations email from MLB. I hope there is a world series in Houston. That would be awesome!!
What crap. I and my entire family signed up. And none of us received an email. Got to love the way they screw the fans that supported the team all season. I went to several games during the regular season and then went to 3 postseason games. And now i'm shut out for world series tickets unless i want to fork over a fortune to ticket brokers (exploiting @ssholes). Thanks again for the screw job Astros and MLB.
My wife got her email today. I hope we can get past the Cardinals. Going to a World Series in Houston is what I have been waiting for since I started watching the Astros when I was 5 years old (1978).
Darn! I had all my friends sign up and none of us got that letter. I wasn't even expecting it so soon.
Two signups....two failures. And as for going to tons of games...well, I went to about 15 games this year, and one postseason game. Pretty impressive for a poor broke 19 year old...if I do say so myself.
Me too. Guess I'll be either saving a bunch of money or spending even more at a scalper....but we gotta get there first!
I'd rather have taken my chances buying the Tix, and not making it...than making it...and having to pay a scalper. I'm sorry...a "ticket agency"
I got my email, but the server to buy the tickets is down right now! Edit: Got my tickets to game 3...3rd baseline (Section 110), row 30...not bad at all!
If any one wants to purchase 4 tickets in section 134 at tonights last home game of this series send me an email me @ chance_kirkpatrick@yahoo.com These seats are nice I was at the game last night.
I've never won a damn thing in my life, but I got 2 tix for game 3. not great tix, but tix nonetheless. Yeah!
Cool, I got my rejection email too. This 'only selecting certain people to be able to have a chance to get tickets' is the dumbest thing ever. What the hells the point of it? Why not just keep it like everything else and have them go on sale for everybody at the same time, and if you're fast you get tickets. Pisses me off. -Nick-
Nick- I agree with the sentiment, but for something with return on investment as far as resale value like World Series tickets, you're just asking to crash a server. The server was down when the tickets were available today, and that's with limiting the numbers of people who can buy. If it was available like that, any person with any business sense across the country would try and grab a pair of tickets for $200 a pop, and be able to sell them EASILY for 3x as much. There's $33 in non-recuperable charges (thanks Ticketmaster), but a gambling man would easily put that $33 at 50/50 odds (since the NLCS is 2-2) up against potential profits of anywhere from $600-$2000, maybe more.
