I like this idea. I'm just wondering if the same insane fervor will ever develop over a baseball world cup like the soccer world cup...
The most recent issue of Sports Illustrated shows what the four possible teams would be from the US, Dominican Republic, Japan, and Puerto Rico. It'd provide for some great games to watch. It would be real close with the US and Dominican.
Do Puerto Ricans play independently of the US in the Olympics and other international competitions? Venzuela, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and South Korea could all put up some formidible competition. Then there are countries like Australia, South Africa, Columbia and Panama who could bring the tournament to 13 teams. Sounds like fun to me if the games can be played during the offseason. Brrrr.......
