From Rockets.com Rockets Await Word On Ming June 18 - Rockets general counsel Michael Goldberg left China late Monday night after wrapping up negotiations with Chinese officials regarding the services of Yao Ming. Feeling they had done everything possible to help Ming receive the necessary clearance to enter the 2002 NBA Draft, Goldberg and the Rockets now await further word from China. "We're still waiting," Rockets GM Carroll Dawson said. "Michael said he thinks we had a great week, as we all do. He has done all he could, so he's heading home." All this stuff now sounds kinda scary. The ball is in China's court and we just have to wait on them. This is sooooo whack. 8 days left guys. Will we draft Ming if they haven't signed off on him completely??? I don't know whats coming but I have a bad feeling. C
EXACTLY...Time IS running out...We did all we can do, now the ball is in China's court..It's ridiculous that we have to do all this BS to court a player. Normally the #1 pick would be glad to play for a team like Houston, but NO, we have to wait to be invited, and visit, and visit some more, and wait some more, and still things are uncertain...Damn I hope things work out for the best and whether that includes Ming or not, who knows??? I don't know how valid ROCKET!!! is, but he says the org is pretty much uncertain as well
