I'm pretty sure in the history of film, liberal actors have been more vilified and blacklisted than conservative actors. I can't recall the last liberal website that called Bruce Willis un-American. Again, the only conservative actor I've heard complain about blacklisting was Sharon Lawrence, formerlly of NYPD Blue (yeah, your political beliefs really held you back from being on a top rated drama). Can you give me some more examples? I know how the nation so hates Charlton Heston.
Rocketman95, not only are you a hypocrite this morning, but you are rude too. Calling me an idiot only makes you look bad. Let's say you call a plumber to your house, and he shows up in a t-shirt with a racist message. I guess that his opinion won't matter to you as long as he does good work? According to your stance here, you would be "terribly stupid" to deny this man work because of his political stance, right?
Do you need me to make another ****ing list? Jesus, you conservatives have some mighty inferiority complexes when it comes to this BBS.
But are any of those guys as active and as "in-your-face" as some of the liberal actors we're talking about? Hell, I didn't even hardly even know any of those guys you listed were conservative.
You don't see a difference in a racist and someone simply having a different opinion than you? Jeez. If the plumber had on a pro-life shirt, I wouldn't think a thing of it. I understand that he's a plumber there to fix my toilet, just like people like you should understand that entertainers are there to entertain. Everyone has opinions, you just don't have to let those opinions get in the way of the job they're supposed to do. If we all did that, I couldn't have dinner with my parents for chrissakes. Funny how you get upset at the word idiot, but not at calling someone un-American.
That and Bruce Willis was very outspoken against Al Gore, calling him the Devil, among other things. Hell, Arnold's talking about running for governor.
We all have certain buttons that can be pushed. You wear a few of them on your sleeve. Sometimes I just can't help myself....my apologies.
Thank you for proving my point. Your stance is not principled, but based on the intensity of your emotions in relation to certain political issues. If it is ok for you to kick out a racist plumber, it is ok for me to complain to NBC about Martin Sheen. We are both working to punish a person for their beliefs.
Then it should be OK for me to call you an idiot. Again, thank you for proving my point. I can't believe anyone would think that being a racist is the same thing as simply having a different opinion than you on something like this. Do you ask your mechanic what his political beliefs are? What about your boss? Not knowing what you do for a living, what about your clients?
You think Joseph was the first person to ever say that? BTW, MadMax, our little Jesus=conservative sidetrack made me think of a book I'm currently reading that I want to recommend to you, if you have a sense of humor or you don't get too offended when it comes to fiction and Jesus (which I'm guessing you do since you enjoyed The Last Temptation of Christ). It's called Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Jesus' Childhood Pal. I'm only like 50 pages into it, and it's one of the funniest books I've ever read. Sorry for derailing my own thread, but you can do that can't you?
yeah...you can...the constitution says so! thanks for the tip...i'll check it out...i'm on a backlog of books right now!
I don't know how you feel about stuff like that (and I completely understand how people could find it offensive or even blasphemous, even if I disagree), so you might want to skim through it first. Maybe I'll just lend you my copy.
