If you have to pick one between the two, which one would you pick?

Me personally will pick Sengun. The 19yo rookie to me already has a bigger impact than Wood, even though the latter posts good numbers.

But what do you guys think?

Sengun is too foul prone to make the call for it to be just him (yet).

Let him play 20 minutes for now.
By years end maybe crank him up to 30+

I hate these type threads. It clearly shows what type of mentality the OP has. Both players are ROCKETS why should you chose??

If he was a true Rocket supporter, the thread should've been titled " Wood and Sengun"....how good can they be?

    Wood AND Sengun

Rockets don't have to choose between them.

Of course they don’t have to. I was just asking a hypothetical question.

But Sengun makes Wood expendable. And I assume trading Wood can yield some pretty good returns.

I think both players are best when they play at the 5. For that reason the Rockets will have to make the decision to move wood. I think the future at the 5 is Sengun with Garuba coming off the bench.

I know we have both, and it very well may stay that way, but if I was forced to choose between one of the two it would be Sengun for me without a shadow of a doubt.

I’ve always liked having wood and I think he can be a winning basketball player, but Sengun has higher upside and a style which is more conducive to running an offense through.

Wood’s decision making is still questionable right now, and he isn’t always reliable in the clutch. With the right roster around him he obviously wouldn’t need to be. Is this roster the right fit? Only time will tell

Unless Wood and Sengun can be on the court together long term, then realistically, you have to choose one.

I’ve been saying this for a little while now, but Denver had to do the same with jokic and nurkic.

Rockets play better with one big on the floor because Tate can’t shoot and besides Garry and Armoni almost everyone else needs driving lanes to be successful.

Not a lot of teams run two big man lineups. Cleveland is having some success with three bigs out on the court. But they have some things we don’t have…

If Garuba became a respectable 3pt shooter and his defense translate he would probably be the ideal guy to play next to Sengun. Basically like a more physically gifted pj tucker.

It’s fine to have them both right now. Sengun is getting the rookie treatment…But by the start of next year at the LATEST, Sengun is going to need to be avg 30 mins per game. At that point him and Wood will either have to be able to play some minutes together successfully and maybe even be able to finish games together.

Wood needs to have Capela minutes 26 to 29 minutes Sengun needs 32 minutes Theis when necessary 15 minutes. You can run the offense thru Sengun like Denver does with Jokic and put 3 to 4 guys who will screen and slip. Sengun Tate KPJ Matthews Brooks at certain stretches' of the game. Thats provided that gang rebounding takes place

The question is, are you asking which one would I pick at this very moment? Or 5 years from now?

The answer is actually Sengun for both.

The correct way to play 2 big lineup.

Silas cannot figure out how to do THIS for just 10 mins a game????

Wood-Sengun ad libbing 90% of this.

Someone made a thread for Sengun & Wood. I guess we're forced to think it's either one or the other? o_O

Wood is the now, Sengun is the future. If winning was a second priority, wouldn't Stone want Silas to put them together more to see if both compliment each other; knowing that they can co-exist. Having this data now, will help Rockets determine how much they're willing to pay Wood on that next extension.

If all 3 of them had a fight to the death

Firstly Wood would be folded like a lawn chair

But Sengun would overzealously foul himself out too

Slow and steady wins the race, Theis lives.

We need to call Garuba back up. I want to see a Garuba and Sengun pairing.
