It's not hogwash it's a fact. Even in Texas it's a felony to rape your wife. I think the only place rape is legal is in Arkansas but then only if it's with your sister.
Texas was one of the last states to make raping your spouse a crime. This happened in the 90s perhaps? Maybe late 80s? Can't recall.

He was charged and convicted when they were married. She divorced him afterwards. There's other news stories that make this more clear. The news today is she was still ordered to pay alimony and is trying to get the law changed for cases of rape.

Not the same issue. Child support laws are not primarily concerned with fairness to the parents, but making sure that the child has financial support, and that trumps how it may or may not screw a parent. I know it does not seem fair, but keep in mind the paramount concern is "childs best interest".

That's how it used to be everywhere, and even a few years after it was changed some detectives and prosecutors declined to charge. I think there were also some states where raping a man wasn't a crime, or a woman couldn't be charged with rape or something. But I think this is more of an issue because of Cali's fairly strict divorce laws: 50-50 split on the assets and alimony unless there's an allegation of abuse.
She has to pay the dad because he is a stay at home dad. You could argue in this instance its about the kids. Which just proves it is not about the kids.
