I’ve seen several posts by other reporters and scouts and fans of the hawks say that Collins reminds them of a very young Amare Stoudamire so maybe D’Antoni is trying to rebuild that Phx squad

player? Plus lux. Tax savings. For Capela. Morey may also throw in a first round pick. To get under tax.

Not everything needs to be doom and gloom.

Capela for a pick and expiring would cause Harden and WB to want out. Me too, TBH.

    Always upvote Rounders references.

I need to slip a "Women are the rake," reference in one of the Harden's girlfriend threads.

I would imagine the 2nd deal would be “wink winked” first so he knows what assets he needs to get first before the deal can get done. I don’t think he would move Clint and then try to find a 2nd deal.

At this point we need some changes. I like Clint but I feel you can find another long athlete on the cheap to give you what he does. If he was creating his own shot out there and dominating the paint more consistently we would already be a better team.

Need a big that can space and lock down D.

That big will also need to be able to guard centers when Rockets play smallball.

    This is known.

Smart is played like 3-D wing.

Has started alongside Kemba many times this season.

It doesn't make much sense unless Boston value Capella over Turner buttttt Indy getting Jaylen, us getting Turner and Boston getting Clint would be a win in my opinion.

The reason to go small is to open up the floor and to do so you need a faster guy who can shoot. It SHOULDNT matter if your 6'6 or 7 foot in that scheme, as long as you can do those things.. hypothetically.
Turner can.. Jaylen fills a need for Indy for sure. More so than Turner.

    Big dreaming here people.

Who is Boris Diaw or Raja Bell?

    Need more than just Collins.

Need 3 way to get Covington too, match salaries.

It isn’t MDA driven. It is driven out of necessity. The Rockets have been bouncing Capela’s name around in trades since last season ended. He was almost dealt this off season and talks have off and on continued since then. De o

The Rockets need wings and they need depth. Ownership wasn’t willing to hold onto Anderson’s contract as a way to circumvent the salary cap and ownership wasn’t willing to take on extra salary in the Westbrook deal.

So here we are. The Rockets have never replaced Ariza and Moute and House hasn’t developed into that type of a player (although they always viewed him more of an offensive player).

I just can’t imagine Morey trading Capela for a lesser player. And I can’t imagine Morey thinking a John Collins package or something along those lines will make us better.

The Rockets knew Capela and Westbrook were a bad fit when they made the trade. The hope was to stagger their minutes and get out in transition.

The main reason Clint and Westbrook don’t work is seen defensively. The Rockets really miss Paul defensively to the point where they have of seriously upgrade defensively at the wings just to make it work.

Let’s see who they trade for before we declare they will get murdered in the playoffs on the boards. When the season started I said match ups will matter in the playoffs more than ever and that is still the case.

FWIW I don’t think they would be selling low on Capela at all. Some of the offers in the past were not really all that exciting.
