Fk it - play Booby Brown... if we gotta tie up a roster spot for this dude for another season - put him on the court... if it means somebody has to work harder because of his deficiencies.. then it is what it is... It's time to piss or get of the pot with this dude... jus sayin...
Yes I think I will have to apologize for having dropped Ish Smith and Scott Machado's names prematurely even before seeing what Demetrius Jackson can do on the court. From the videos he looks like he can seriously play.
Being close doesnt mean he can be cp3. Besides Cp3s indisposed as of now. Please dont fill a roster spot base on affliation please, we already use it on bbrown.
I like Jackson and the board seems to be too hard on him. I think people expect him to drop 15 a game or something. He just needs to keep playing defense and keep the turnovers down. I think he'll be a welcome piece in the long run this season.
He needs to make 3's too pretty sure a PG who can play defense, low tornovers, plus another skill like passing or makng 3s ain't that hard to find
I think people are under the assumption that we should be getting ring chasing vets like David West, Nick Young, D Wade, etc. The difference is that those guys have the potential to actually get on the floor. PG here gets no time unless they are all star caliber (unless its garbage time).
Jackson was a victim of a bad first impression for Rockets fans. Boston fans were really high on this guy's potential and were sad they lost him in the shuffle. I was at the preseason Spurs game and he threw down a couple dunks in warm ups that made me double take to make sure it wasn't Troy. I think the biggest problem for him is that 2 way contract limiting how many days he can be with the big team.
fwiw: Woj says this in his Briante Weber article Sounds like the OP tweet is out of date now, or we were looking for development players, and not vets. For now, the Rockets are planning to hold on to the roster flexibility and keep a spot open, league sources said. -- Woj http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21124590/briante-weber-agrees-two-way-contract-houston-rockets
Maybe Morey read this thread and came to his senses, realizing that looking for a quality vet wasn't a very good idea.
Jackson is a good defensive player, Weber is elite. Not as physical as Bev but more cerebral and his hands are so active.
