So when is Tillman's son taking over GM duties?

Our 4 best players are all locked up long term... This era, for better or worse, is going nowhere! This is illogical from Woj!

I'd settle for Jimmy Buffett over the Bozo we have now.

i agree with this. tillmen seems like a gm's nightmare. constructing a contender under le$ was hard enough. building a contender under tillmen must be like building burj khalifa with only a 100 mil budget.

I think we have this year and next if we don't win it all Harden will probably ask out before its too late.

Anyone who b****es about what MDA and Morey have done for this franchise is flat out wrong. Once Harden, MDA, and especially Morey is gone this organization will be in the trash heap. More than half these criticisms lack any context whatsoever.

So Tilman is demanding this team makes the finals. He won’t pay the luxury tax, so the general manager can’t improve it, but he’s fired if he doesn’t. He won’t pay the going rate for the top assistant coaches, so it’s all on Mike D’Antoni who knows this is his last year. He demanded the Russ trade last year, which locks this team into whatever it is now.

This season is completely on Tilman. He’s forced the cards to be dealt this way.

Pays less, puts a worse team on the floor, demands more success. This dude stinks like every cheap owner you've ever known in your life.

    Saving money at Rockets expense.

So Iggy has 5 months of not playing competitive ball, and is supposed to lock down people?

I've tried to put it out of my mind and just enjoy Harden's greatness. But the bleak future of the franchise under this dollar store owner has become pretty clear. His cheapness very well may have already cost us a chance for a title this season and last season. Harden and more importantly Westbrook isn't getting younger (or cheaper) so we're gonna be up against the cap for the foreseeable future, and we now know what that means for any supporting cast around Harden, no bueno, can't go over the cap.

Morey, while not perfect, is a great GM. Unfortunately the owner has cut him off at the knees with his cheapness. Now his "failure" to surround Harden with talent will be blamed on him, even if its clearly the fault of his oppressive financial constraints. The China situation pretty much slammed the door on his long term future to begin with.

We have a few more years of Harden, maybe he can beat the odds and carry us to one. Fans better enjoy it because what lies beyond Harden isn't pretty. New ownership is always a dangerous crap shoot for fans, worked out well for the Astros but this one didn't go our way.

The HK situation was just an excuse, Ferntits would have found another way to undermine Morley.

Agreed. I'm just enjoying Harden's excellence now. As much as the NBA will let him shine, anyway.

Fertitta certainly sounds like his kid'll have the GM seat before the 2020s decade is out. I think this may be Morey's last year, several years left on his contract or not, unless they get the 'chip. Contrary to the conspiracy theory, I don't think Morey did the tweet with the mind of getting canned. He's smart enough to realize the Chinese government is vindictive enough to try and keep him from any other NBA job, and NBA owners are weak enough to let the Chinese dictate terms for something like this.

Not using the WB trade to take back extra salary, and not signing Shumpert to a friendly, large tradable deal, are both inexcusable if the goal is to win a championship.

I agree with some of your points. Just want to point out, the reason so many people upset is because of Tillman’s actions leading up to the end of the era. He strapped the team, and everyone else has to suffer.

Tilman may not want to trade Harden but Harden will demand to be traded.

    Why wouldn't he?

In such a short while Fertita has already cemented a reputation around the league as one of the worst owners.

Morey and MDA the guys Harden has a great working relationship with, will get fired.

The new GM and coach are guaranteed to be worse than what we have now.
Why? Because good coaches and GMs want high paychecks.

You think that Tilman who didn't even have money to pay Westbrook's contract, is going to go after someone like Masai?
We will be lucky if he doesn't hire his own son.

So one of the worst owners in the league, worse quality new coach and GM, no chance of championship in sight.
He's already 30 years old and the clock is ticking. All around him stars are moving trying to go after rings.

    He will demand out 100%.

Cannot be overstated how grim the future looks with this dude once Harden and Morey are gone. Enjoy it while it lasts.
