The team, as much as people see the deficiencies looks like an improvement over last year over year. Patience people.
What's so funny? They are on pace to win 20 after a really tough first half schedule and only need to win 4 extra to beat the over. I was wrong about a couple of things, namely Jalen improving and Jabari being a positive rookie, but overall we are still on track especially with Tate returning (currently our second best player). Wood proved to be exactly what I said he was, by far our best player last year, Dallas is trying to max him now, losing him was a big blow to win total which we needed internal improvement to overcome. We got that from Sengun, Kpj. Garuba and KJ Martin also, but smaller impact due to smaller roles. Tari has been a positive rookie due to his defense just like I said. Green, Jabari, and to lesser extent Josh Christopher, Gordon have been disappointments due to their lack of progression or regression. There is hope that especially Green and Jabari can still turn it around in the second half like Green did last year.
Dallas is going to give Wood a 2 year plus team option deal and not whatever Wood wants to keep flexibility.
It looks like we are going to be pretty much the same as we are now, minus EGO, at the end of the year. Following some teams’ sell-offs, there could be several more teams trying to be worse than us. Without looking at the schedule, we might run into a few of those in the final month and unintentionally pad our record.
Dallas is trying to give him a 2 year max extension which Wood has not taken. Otherwise he will take a bigger deal in free agency. Wood is head and shoulders the second best player on one of the top teams in the West, on the worst team in the league last year he was by far the best player.
If you were to chart Jalen Green's defense and Jabari Smith's offense, the spot where the Rockets are at would be the intersection of the two.
Yeah if something doesn’t change fast then I may have to concede. Really misjudged Jabari’s impact and Green’s improvement.
