this is what you've resorted to? haha you should just keep on watching fox news to get 'ideas' to come here and 'discuss' your new nickname is pavolv's dog:
What's that sound you hear? Hello, darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision That was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone Beneath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed By the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never share... And no one dare Disturb the sound of silence. "Fools," said I, "you do not know Silence like a cancer grows." "Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you." But my words like silent raindrops fell, And echoed in the wells of silence. And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made. And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming. And the signs said: "The words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls And tenement halls, And whisper'd in the sound of silence."
A pleasant faced man steps up to greet you He smiles and says he's pleased to meet you Beneath his hat the strangeness lies Take it off, he's got three eyes Truth is false and logic lost Now the fourth dimension is crossed... You have entered the Twilight Zone Beyond this world strange things are known Use the key, unlock the door See what your fate might have in store... Come explore your dreams' creation Enter this world of imagination... You wake up lost in an empty town Wondering why no one else is around Look up to see a giant boy You've just become his brand new toy No escape, no place to hide Here where time and space collide You have entered the Twilight Zone Beyond this world strange things are known Use the key, unlock the door See what your fate might have in store... Come explore your dreams' creation Enter this world of imagination...
how is what he did sexist? do the reasons behind his action matter or are you just gonna judge based on what u solely see in the pic?
again, how is what he did sexist? if he refused to shake the lady's hand out of modesty, then i dont consider that sexist
stop answering my questions with questions of your own as soon as you answer mine, i'll be more than happy to answer yours
you still answering questions with questions why cant you give a straight answer? you're the one that initially said it was sexist, please explain why
rubber and glue. you first. etc etc. you really are silly. but ok: refusing to shake hands with a woman because she's a woman, when you would shake hands with a man is sexist. it's mullah inspired mumbo jumbo further segregating women from men.
This is not an isolated incident. Many Muslim leaders refuse to shake hands with women, simply because they are women. Treating a woman worse than you would a man is pretty much the definition of sexist.
wow hayes, you actually answered a question! if a person doesn't want to shake a woman's hand out of modesty and respect for her, then i dont consider that sexist....he actually bows to her, which shows even more modesty and respect for the woman. since you're in question answering mode, will you agree to stop name-calling?
I have no doubt that you don't consider it sexist. Now get me a sandwich. Here's an interesting first hand experience with the hand shaking business: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/4104144.stm I was taken to a modern office block where a dozen young workers sent out e-mails and prepared well-produced web pages full of pictures and lively comment. This is where I met the young woman and the handshake problem. In perfect English she asked if I would like to see the daily blog she prepares for her readers. "I want to show you the website," she said excitedly, and told me her name. I introduced myself, held out my hand and said: "Pleased to meet you." She jumped back as if I had slapped her. "In the Islamic Republic," she lectured me sternly, "it is not permitted." True, it is not permitted for a man to shake a woman's hand. Neither of us took offence and we chatted amicably for a while, but when later I told other female students of this encounter they laughed and immediately stretched out their hands in a series of handshakes which - they informed me - was just another rebellion against the unelected mullahs who, no matter how the students may vote, really run the regime. That, they said, has to change.
i guess thats 'interesting,' but the people that really run the iranian government, from the 'supreme leader' on down, are elected whether they are 'mullahs' or laymen now if a person doesn't want to shake a woman's hand out of modesty and respect for her, do u consider that sexist? since ahmadinejad actually bows to her, which shows even more modesty and respect for the woman, is that sexist? also, will you agree to stop name-calling? cmon hayes, quit beating around the bush and answer the questions no more filibustering
Hey, I guess as the resident anonymous Iran expert (that's not name calling is it?) you would know better than people living in Iran (and we know you're not living in Iran). Yes. Having a rule where shaking hands with a woman is not permitted is sexist. That the male thinks it is better for the woman, or protecting the woman, or protecting himself from the woman - is irrelevant. I seriously doubt that the concepts which surround the traditionalist conservative approach to gender relations in Iran are anything but sexism as the notion is conceived in the West. If you want to argue that modernity and the West are wrong then be my guest. Regardless, yes - it is sexist to say a woman is not permitted to shake hands with a man. Refusing to shake hands is sexist. If he does circles on the floor like Curly of the Three Stooges in her honor instead, it is still sexist.
