Where did this Jimmy Butler thing even start? We have absolutely no chance of trading for Butler. If you can't even outbid Jaylen Brown or even the next year Memphis 1st you shouldn't participate in hypothetical trades for a star.

Jimmy Butler will be an unrestricted free agent after this season if he declines his player option, which he will do. He already declined an extension.

Jimmy Butler is already annoyed with Minnesota and their young guys. Will they make the playoffs this season? West is 10 deep. Dangerous time for Minnesota. They can try to work things out, but Butler can leave them after the season and the Wolves will get nothing.

So, will Butler be in play at the February trade deadline? How much premium assets will teams offer since he will be a FA and can leave? Will Butler be in play around the Draft with "opt-in and trade scenarios" much like how the Rockets got CP3?

    Stay tuned.

His contract demands next year and his knee history scares me....... do not want to pay all that money and tax for a disaster waiting to happen!

Downside that concerns me is the constancy of JB/KI rumors desiring to play together in NYC w/both Manhattan and Brooklyn having $$$ room in both boros.

at this point he wants that max contract that hes going to get and build a bigger brand for himself. he also likely wants to play with some guys hes grown closer to as the years have gone by.

I’m pretty sure he’s close with melo, James and tucker.

They all hang out for the fashion stuff every summer.

Plus the team USA angle with cp3 harden and melo.

Assume we are able to trade Ryno for JR and Korver without giving up a 1st.

Are we able to, at the deadline, trade JR (quasi expiring) + EGo + 1st for JB?

Iv also heard that but also just media rumor.

It’s prob true but nothing that either Kyrie or butler has publicly said.

And on top of that I really don’t buy that Kyrie is leaving the Celtics. That team is his and it’s stacked.

As long as Boston opens up the check book and gives him the max I see know way he leaves.

I don’t doubt that Kyrie and butler would want to play in New York.

If I was an nba player if want to play in the big apple also.

But then two together isn’t winning a chip let alone coming out the east.

Kyrie and butler are good but imo there both overrated.

butler has publicly said he would pick kyrie irving if he could pick any teammate in the nba. us as fans might look at it that way as far as a chip but as players their mindset is likely different

kyrie doesn't necessarily have to leave the celtics. after this year, the celtics could just choose not to pay him what he's probably going to want/command especially when they have a glute of young stars on the rise.

Man, yall need to let Butler go, we cant get him(I would happy eat crow if otherwise). For that to happen Melton would have to play like ......amazing. Not to mention they would prolly want Gordon. And that's prolly all we could give, and really, idk if that beats other trade packages.
