    Never any question Bulls prefer to trade Carlos Boozer before amnesty. Think Jerry Reinsdorf wants to pay anyone $15 million to do nothing?


    So, if you are Morey and the Bulls will offer Boozer for Asik + Lin (cap numbers are pretty even, maybe some minor pieces will be added, but no picks from either side).

    Will you do this trade for the Rockets?

    Asik is a quality backup center or even can start in lots of teams, but his 15 mil salary dropped his value quite a bit.

    Lin's ability plus his contract has negative trade value.

    It's hardly a gold for bronze.

    They are going to start Gibson next year, they will need at least a big man coming out from their bench, Asik is familiar with their system, not a bad choice and definitely an upgrade in PF/C position.

    As for Lin, his situation could be similar to Augustin, which could provide some unexpected offense while not very good on D. They can make a decision whether to keep kirk hinrich or not.

    Overall, cap wise, with a piece or two added in the trade, they are not getting more cap pressure, but they do need to pay 10-15 mils more in cash - not an easy decision for the Bulls owner.

    If it's Thibs with Boozer then yes. Maybe Butler with Boozer.

    Carlos Boozer, whose salary cap hit is 13.5 millions, is more of a negative trade value than Jeremy Lin, whose salary cap is only 8 million, even with him being paid 15 million.

    Asik is valuable and is simply a much better player than Carlos Boozer at this point. I know him being paid 15 million next season definitely hurts his trade value, but that doesn't mean we should just give him away. I could think of a lot of teams that would really benefit from having him on their roster.
