Inside of all this (make believe) Sengun vs Green discourse, remember the truth.

Harden, maybe the greatest individual point producer of all time, at the time couldn’t get it done. Maybe he was a choker, but ultimately those teams really didn’t have another gear or another plan of attack on offense when CP3 went down. Even with CP3 we lacked a third wheel.

The players on our roster represent an opportunity to build a diverse and multifaceted attack. It’s the only way.

Because of the durant warrior. Adding a mvp to 73 win team is not fair, and even then if cp3 doesn't get hurt they probably win one.

we have three dynamic and super athletic three young players in JG4, Amen and Cam

plenty more options they offer---than JH13 AND CP3

That was one of the best teams I’ve ever seen. They had every component necessary to win a championship and are significantly better than multiple teams in other years that won a ring. Sometimes **** happens. In this case it was Chris Paul’s hamstring, some absolutely **** refereeing, and 0-27. Those Warrior teams are among the best of all time and the 18 Rockets were just as good. They just didn’t win that series in that moment.

it failed bc while immensely talented, JH is a self absorbed narcisstic fk... early he wouldnt accept enough help that he had to share the spotlight... later he wouldnt take any direction or feedback from the likes of CP3... he didnt get pushed bc MDA was a gutless wonder who just wanted his offensive stats inflated so he would be viewed as some guru... Morey was an enabler who wouldnt push... i'm sure various players 'checked out' along the way shaking their head... it was all just a dysfunctional clusterfk...

    but eh... jus my opinion...

    The Refs completely screwed us
    CP3 got injured

    That is it period

I always say . . . remove JHarden from those teams . . .How good would they have been?

Nah he was an embarrassing choker. 2018 was the year the stars aligned... then exploded. It happens. But you're right, multifaceted attack is really important. So is a multi headed wing defense. Both seem to be developing.

1000% agree. They were an injury to their 2nd best player away

Harden was a torn hamstring away from being seen in a similar light to Giannis or Dirk, a deeply flawed playoff performer who, when the stars aligned, won a title to clean his legacy.

Instead, the stars aligned instantly went supernova.

Because only one team can be the champion no matter how good the teams are.

I think Dirk actually did well in some of the years, obviously he had his blunders.

Harden is not from Germany so he cannot claim to be the best from a country.

2007 is arguably worse than any of Harden's single series failings, 67 wins and not getting out of the first round.

I don't hold the 2006 finals against him, that was 100% Tim Donaghey. Same reason I don't hold D-Wade in a high regard, anyone could have won that series shooting 50 FTA over the last two games singlehandedly.

It failed here for the same reason it failed in Brooklyn and Philly. And its why it will fail in LA too. He plays sone of his worst basketball when you need him the most.
