Why is our young team consistently at “tiredness” defecit ? Is there any truth to it?

Hearing the Silas post game conference , it’s not the first time he’s said our team was “tired” and used it as a pseudo excuse .

how is this true ? I thought young teams were supposed to heal up quicker and generally be fresher .

the only explanation I can think of it young athletes not conditioned to an NBA schedule and not ready to keep up with vets attuned to playing 82

kpj even said he knows GS was also coming off a B2B . Weren’t they also resting a couple of guys ?

don’t we have a bunch of young players who could easily step in if guys are “tired”

Oh and slightly off topic , but mayyybe if young guys ARE tired out trying to adjust to 48 mpg and 82 games a year maybe don’t shove em in the starting lineup and play them 30+ mpg just because they are a top pick.

please educate me rockets fans / staff or otherwise please **** off and stop using that as an excuse

Maybe they're tired because their positional defense is horrible and they have to run circles every defensive possession.

They are tired because they becoming accustomed to the NBA schedule, they also trying to put muscle on more than a few players and have them lifting after games and practice .. I really think that’s why we have some horrid 3pt shooting games where their legs just not there.

Our bigs really do a lot of scrambling on D also..

May just be an excuse, but may also be some truth to it. Coming out of college or wherever you aren't playing 82 games and have a schedule where you are traveling cross country, its a bit more regional and then tournaments are played in the same city. We all saw those videos of how out of shape Alperen was and how Gerald Green as a development coach was running circles around him, and the coaches were trying to get him to pick it up. Gerald was 35 and out of the league ,and Alperen was 19. Just because you are younger doesnt mean you will be in better condition. I think there is a big difference between a guy who is 19-20 years old in his first couple of seasons, vs a guy who is 23 and has had NBA trainers paying full attention to them and building their conditioning. I think when you are in college or in a league looking to be drafted to the NBA, the focus is on showcasing other aspects and fundamentals to get you drafted.

You also have things like being in a new city, and maybe wanting to explore a bit instead of just going to the room and going to sleep, Im sure for a lot of guys this eventually becomes old and they will only do it if they have ties to a city and reason to go out. Curious what will happen when everyone on this team will be turning 21 in the same time span lol. They will need some more veteran presence I think. A star that is 25-27 years old. Kind of like a Donovan type player the Cavs got. Maybe Tari Eason's mom can keep them in check.

Silas mentioned 4 games in 6 days.

Denver is a high elevation arena. Porter said they ran the length of the court twice
    and they all felt it.

Jalen Green had congestion between Denver games. I was worried he was getting sick.

and they smoke too much weed.

    That is all....

    For now

NBA games are more or less as tiring to any NBA player with the only factor being conditioning. MDA flushed two titles down the toilet by imagining that resting his players in practice should allow them to play more in games and not complain of fatigue. Both his title contenders fizzled out looking exhausted.

Same goes for young players. You give everything when you're on the floor. A person can press a little more or chill a little more to understand the demands of NBA basketball, but we can't get it down to 3-4 minute accuracy in terms of conserving energy especially since you don't know what could possibly happen in a game.

Neither rest nor youth nor intense cardiovascular training can make a significant difference to dealing with NBA minutes. It can be plus or minus a few minutes or it can be a bit more than that if you go weeks with a rough schedule with little rest in other team's cities. But in general, it's roughly the same for everyone.

tiredness is almost never physical...most of human tiredness come from boredom and uninspiring activities or a lack of inspiring one...
