Why do women get to 'take a break' or 'take a sabbatical'?

    And the lazy sabbatical taking women wouldn't steal our jobs by outworking us, they'd be lazy in bed pregnant except to make us dinner, cleaning the house, and running a mini daycare for my kids

    You think it's harder to get to work today in your air-conditioned/heated automobile on paved roads with endless safety features than it was 100 years ago?

    Yep...easier to raise kids, harder to get to work.

    Which brings up the most interesting question of them all: is it easier or harder to take your kids to school?

    Harder...I'd walk to kindergarten. Nowadays, you'd have to be driven.

    ...why of course it is.

    ...mostly because back then, the earth was a lot flatter than it is now...;)

    Yeah, but back then kids only went to school for 6 years or so then it was off to the factory/mine/farm.

    But work was easier back then, so it was probably more like recess than what we think of as working in a factory.

    And we all got married at 11. My wife’s dowry was a chicken and two pigs.
