He still was on air for 25 years and had pretty good ratings. In this market that is hard to do. You have to give him some credit.
People listen to 610 or sports radio for that matter still? Doesn't sound like he was fired? so there's that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not to hijack but another hits the road in another station TBH I don't know what her role was. She had shitty sports take and she couldn't even read the news from a script, constantly making mistakes and stuttering
Clint Stoerner and Rick Kamla in the afternoon Pendergast to the morning show https://barrettsportsmedia.com/2019/07/18/sports-radio-610-makes-changes-in-drive-times/ Houston’s Sports Radio 610 is set to introduce a new afternoon show on Monday. The change is part of an overhaul to the station started with new PD Armen Williams’s hire at the end of 2018. The new afternoon show features former University of Arkansas quarterback Clint Stoerner and NBA TV personality Rick Kamla. Neither are strangers to radio. Sports Radio 610 listeners have been hearing Stoerner as a weekly contributor to the station. He also served as a studio analyst for 103.7 the Buzz in Little Rock. Kamla recently departed 92.9 the Game in Atlanta. Clint and Kamla launches at 2 pm on Monday, July 22. “I am born and raised in Houston,” Stoerner said in a press release. “Sports Radio 610 is the king of Houston sports radio, so talking daily to me people in South Texas is a dream come true. Tune in and turn up, H-Town!” “Clint and Rick are the perfect pair to bring informative and clear cut opinions to the Houston listener,” Entercom Houston’s Senior Vice President and Market Manager Sarah Frazier said in a press release. She added that the station is “excited to provide the Houston sports community with a revamped weekday lineup that they can connect with to and from work on a daily basis.” The new show displaces 610’s current afternoon hosts. Sean Pendergast will move into morning drive alongside Seth Payne for Pendergast and Payne. Pendergast’s afternoon partner Rich Lord has exited the building after nearly 25 years in Houston sports radio.
I actually did like Mike Meltser. I liked listening to him and Seth in the morning. I can deal with Pendergast though, I like him as well.
UGH! I love Mike Meltser. Terrible to see him leave. I do like Pendergast so glad he stuck around. Not a fan at all of Clint Stoerner. I mean he's probably a cool dude, just not my cup of tea as a radio voice. Oh well.
