So, I've begun to notice our roster is looking rather overfull. We are only allowed to have 15 players on our roster so it seems we'll be cutting or trading a few. We currently have not counting the obvious training camp fodder: 01-Aaron Brooks 02-Kyle Lowry 03-Ishmael Smith 04-Kevin Martin 05-Courtney Lee 06-Jermaine Taylor 07-Shane Battier 08-Chase Budinger 09-Mike Harris 10-Luis Scola 11-Chuck Hayes 12-Patrick Patterson 13-Jared Jeffries 14-Jordan Hill 15-Yao Ming 16-Brad Miller This doesn't include our possibility of acquiring Dampier or Fesenko. Morey has a history of going into the season and going most of the season with 14 players on the roster. Who are we going to cut? Easy guess would be we would cut Mike Harris, but once we add another center then I guess Ishmael Smith would have to go as well...even then, we'd still have 15 players on our roster. I don't want us to cut Jeffries because of his value as an expiring contract at the February trade deadline. This isn't even taking into consideration the talk of us using our trade exception to absorb a player like Anthony Randolph. So...what do you think we should do?
Mike Harris....or Ish Smith are probably the ones...but Jermaine Taylor would be a bubble cut..IMO. DD
Yes, but we can't count on that. All signs currently point to us going with this team mostly as is. I'm sure Morey already has an idea who is going should no trade actually materialize.
This is becoming a weekly thread...and they havent even started playing, so nothing has really changed during this time. Once they start playing we'll have a better idea of who's staying...technically they can keep 15, so i dont see what the hurry in deciding is, we'd just be cutting one guy or maybe two.
I really, really don't want to give up Taylor for nothing, especially with Martin's injury history. I actually advocate we go with 15 players on the roster while we wait for an opportunity to trade in our assets. I have a feeling someone pretty good will be available by February.
Sorry, if you think this is a weekly thread. It's hard to tell with all the Melo talk. I just want to talk about the guys we actually have for once this summer.
I'd like to at least see small trade before the season starts. Like a play for pick or a 2 for 1 so we can trim down the roster a bit.

Rockets will cut Harris and Johnson. If we sign Dampier, Ish Smith gets cut. Jermaine Taylor won't be cut..Adelman is super high on him and views him as a future starter.
