He’s a walking contract asset. He’s not a terrible player but not a rotational player on a good team. His underwhelming play could be somewhat a product of his injury, but I’m not interested in waiting around to find out. He needs to either be packaged with Olidipo and other assets as part of a trade for an impact player, or let him expire and aggregate cap room to sign Gary Trent Jr. this offseason.

His highlight video from last season made him look pretty good. He’s been awful with the Rockets.

    His feet.

He probably wears a large shoe size. It would be pretty tough to stand anywhere else on him.

Landale sucks. There's just no going around that. Even in extremely limited back up minutes he has been horrendous

at least that multi year deal isn't fully guaranteed bc it would be even dumber than the Theis deal the rockets gave out for free

I heard he was decent last year with the Suns. I have yet to see that on the Rockets. I'm hoping it's just recovery from the bad sprain and he will get better as season goes along but so far he has been trash.

One or both of these things:
    • He got paid
    • He got hurt

It looks like he now has butterfingers. He just fumbles the ball.

Not worth harping on since the Rockets have been doing good with Jeff Green.

It actually is though. Uncle Jeff just happens to not suck. He wasn't signed to be the primary back up center. That was Landale. But since Landale has been so horrible it has forced Uncle Jeff into that position playing much more than anticipated. So basically they wasted a 4 year deal regardless if it isn't fully guaranteed.

    He's been awful all season.

Contract is a very useful one in dollar value as well as the option years. It's essentially an $8m expiring.
Very good contract construction by Stone & Co.

I'd look to move him if an upgrade was available and not terribly costly asset wise.

Not everything is going to go well for the Rockets. The Rockets signed that deal knowing Landale could be the backup center, be used for salary matching, or be cut limiting his cost in future years with the knowledge that Landale may not be good. The first option has likely failed, and hasn't mattered in about over a month. I find how Green has been playing more noteworthy than how well Landale is sitting on the bench. Regarding Stone's acquisitions this offseason, I find FVV, Brooks, Holiday, and Green to have been so good that Landale being bad (even though he still may become matching salary) isn't noteworthy.

Stone has had the foresight that even when he makes a free agent mistake, he's been able to limit the harm to one season.

We already knew Uncle Jeff is a good rotational player. It's been that way for a long time and not really noteworthy

He's a trade asset; just like Victor Odipo. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ankle sprain doesn't cause you to fumble a pass on pick n rolls or miss an easy shot under the basket...he's BFI classified trash

He's really bad. Like others have mentioned he's merely a contract to toss in a trade
