Olive oil, tomato sauce ,mushhrooms, artichokes, onions, garlic and ocassionaly spinach and or brockolinni. No cheese and cooked in a wood oven.
I prefer a NY style thin crust with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage and Bacon (Not Canadian). I do like a occasional chicago style crust from time to time but I don't care for too much sauce and I really don't like it when the sauce is on top of the cheese in a traditional chicago sytle. I guess I had one that was a cheesy tomato sauce soup and it killed it for me.
For delivery, usually half with pepperoni and jalapeno and half with sausage and mushroom. At restaurants, we mix it up more.
A good deep dish is awesome but they're hard to find. Had a buddy in college whose mom would overnight him a homemade pie or 2 every month. So amazingly good, how she got it from Chicago to Austin (raw/frozen? cooked/frozen?) I have no idea. I remember Star Pizza in Houston had a pretty good one, any places in Austin you like?
Typically pepperoni thin crust, if ordering a whole pie from a regular pizza place with the Mrs. But if I'm just ordering for myself at a by-the-slice place, it's pepperoni, jalapeƱos, extra cheese, and whatever else jumps out at me when I look at the menu. This usually results in diarrhea later but is worth it.
Veggies + feta + thin crispy crust is usual for me. But if we're talking about my favorite, it's pepperoni with double cheese and double mushrooms.
I like like sun-dried tomatoes, basil, onions, garlic, and olives as toppings. Sometimes I'll ask for hot-peppers too.
