What makes the greatest player of all time?

    In that case you have to go with either Bill Russell or Magic Johnson.

    For his time. Would that still hold today? Longevity is also important. When I draft a player, I'm not just drafting for what he can provide the first year. Five or six years down the road, what will he have done for my team?

    Such questions would need to be considered, by my definition.

    If you go back in time and bring a young Wilt to these times Shaq would be the only player stronger than him, but he would still be the better overall athlete. However, if Wilt were born in 1986 instead of 1936 he would be an even greater athlete because of the advancements in physical training, weight training, nutrition, etc.

    Longevity? In his final season he led the league in FG% and rebounds while playing 40+ minutes a game, probably got 5 assists a game too.

    I don't think such hypotheticals shoudl be taken into account, personally.

    Sure. I just meant that I wasn't only considering what they might do in their rookie season. Hey, Wilt is definitely in the discussion; can't dispute that.
