I got a call today from a friend with the Rockets in response to the column I wrote. They are working on Rockets promotions for the year and want to know what types of giveaways fans would like (i.e. bobble heads, etc). They already are planning on more bobbleheads and other ideas include regulation basketballs (they would be given away deflated so no one could throw them around), t-shirts and children's replica jerseys. If anyone has any ideas about other giveaway stuff, please feel free to post it here. Thanks!
Take the funds budgeted for 1 promo event and apply them to funding a CFM web server for Clutch. T-shirts in conjunction with ClutchCity url. Mango
One other thing that might be interesting is rookie trading cards for Eddie and Terence. I've seen a few other teams do this-- not with actual brand name cards from Upper Deck, Topps, etc., but from some off-brand or even "homemade" cards of them. Perhaps they could make about 8-10 per player, and then distribute them in packages of 3 to fans on assigned game card nights? Those could be some interesting collectibles, and perhaps fans would try to get all 10. I don't know what anyone else thinks of this idea, but I think it could work for each season's new rookies.
Does it apply to us or the BULLS? Anyhow, can we get Dan Fegan bobbleheads? KIDDING also. A Clutch teddy bear would be a very good one! I think Clutch the bear is the cutest moscat in the league. And Turbo bobbleheads! Also, Rice's wife dancing with the dancers would be a huge giveaway we like!
calvin murphy bobbleheads would be sweet!! i want one with the yellowjacket suit! otherwise, how about ANY merchandise using retro colors?
What is a moscat?! How about free tacos or burgers or pizza or whatever everytime we score 100 or 110 or whatever will be slightly above average.
I've got it! If Moochie is here next year, make a "Moochie Norris Chia Head!" It starts out with no 'hair' on top any you can grow out the Moochie fro, or braid it for the cornrows. I know that they do promotional & limited run chia heads because I used to have an 'Elmer Fudd' chia head. Moochie Chia Head would be cool. vs. ...the resemblence is remarkable!
ROFL a HaHAhaHAAH hAA HAA!!!! <having trouble breathing> That's hilarious, Ottomaton. Once Mooch is re-signed, we should get another Clutchcity outing to a game going with everyone in the section sporting huge fros. That would be awesome!
How about a Dan Fegan Voodoo Doll, complete with a box of pins. if not, Don't we still have a lot of David Robinson jock straps lying around?
T-shirts. The Rockets Organization should give away more T-shirts during prize throws into the crowd. How about just more prize throws into the crowd? Someone mentioned a Clutch the Bear stuffed doll... that's cute. I'd like one of those too! rH
how about a larger smoking section? i would forgoe any teeshirts or bobbleheads if it meant there was space to smoke a cigarette without smoking everyone elses too. if that makes sense.
That isn't up to the Rockets. The Compaq Center (and the new arena for that matter) is owned by the city and subject to city ordinances. One city ordinance states that there may be no smoking in city-owned buildings.
On a different note, I was at a Mystics game and noticed they had a dance team of school kids dressed in shorts and t-shirts instead of a professional dance team. While I respect the Rockets dancers for their professionalism and think they do a good job, having kids out there added more of a community ambiance to the experience for me. Does that make any sense? I understand having a group of kids regularly performing at games isn't really feasible for the Rockets since the NBA season is during the school year, but I liked that aspect of the Mystics game, and submit it as food for thought. By the way, the kids were good, and they weren't all girls.
How bout Dann Fegan bobble-head-falloffs? LOL, like a bobble head, but the head falls off? Just kidding...
