    If they want a "competitive" first round then they should make it 12 teams total in the playoffs.

    16 teams is half the league. It's not an accomplishment at all to make the playoffs right now (unless you're in the west). But if you reduce the number of teams making the playoffs, the tanking would reach unbearable levels.
