Miles contract is insured so they don't have to worry about buying him out. He's also already qualified for that medical retirement and would come off their books. Problem is they can't tell him to retire it's up to him. I guess he still wants to play.
There are only so many excuses you can make for putting on the pounds. The guy is a professional athlete. With his ridiculous contract he can hire a personal chef/nutritionist. Plenty of athletes w/ smaller salaries do it all the time.
What two pix in this thread? I only see the one. You didn't think that jail pic of ODB was Miles, did you? Yeah, you're absolutely right about this. I was just trying to make the point that forced time on the bench can make a player reflect a bit. Personally, I don't think Miles is smart enough to change much and I expect him to be a marginal player the rest of his career -- a (very) poor man's Lamar Odom. The more I see Francis play this year, the more I think he really *is* adapting his game to fit the needs of Adelman's Rockets. If that's true, he could end up being the key to this team's success, as he's the only one who brings it night in and night out.
I saw about 4-5 pictures of an overweight Miles a few months ago. Don't remember where. Yes, I mistakenly thought that 2nd picture was also Miles.
