What event occurred around the time you joined Clutchfans?

My webtv broke for the final time and I ordered a Dell laptop. Since I had forgotten my sign in Clutch password and could not access my cherished webtv email address, I just signed up again as a new member. I might have been a 99er. Thank God I'm not! Those guys are real douchebags

 

I finally joined after Yao was drafted - I was so annoyed that I came on here to vent because I thought it was an awful pick for health reasons and that he'd never avg 17/8. At one point clutch had a rolling quote on how wrong I was.

 

For me the event was the formation of the site. Somehow my original login was lost during a crash of some sort back in 1999 as I was a member even before my shown date.

 

everyone from pro sports daily quoted and talked about the site the lurked for awhile then joined

 

I joined right before we signed Lin. I joined because I thought we were getting Dwight and wanted to post on cf instead of do spreadsheets at my internship

 

Discovered clutchcity.net after reading a blurb about in ESPN The Magazine back in ~2001. Didn't discover the forums until much later (lurked for a while).

Someone showed me Clutchfans in '07 but I didn't sign up until right after we lost to the Lakers in that series in '09.

It was right when college started for me so I needed something to distract me from taking notes in class with my laptop :grin:

 

Right before T-Mac joined the Rockets.

 

Actually, I was a lurker from 03-08, scratch that.

 

I was there too my brother during the genesis and the days of creation.

 

It's so long ago, I don't remember. I know I didn't re-register immediately when the forum changed.

 

I lurked since 07ish but don't remember the event.

22 win streak, that was an awesome time. then the 14th pick became a yearly routine and now here we are- back in contention.

 

i know i first found this website during the 2004-05 playoffs against dallas... that series frustrated me so bad! but i see that i joined may 31st 2006... i cant recall what was going on during that time... or a little bit before that... i think that was the **** season for us with all those injuries

 

Was always a lurker since the championship years because I moved from Houston to Orange County. Also why I chose the moniker.

I joined the forums mid season before the Eddie Griffin trade. Totally wanted to tank and that was the first thread I created. Remember that 3-for-1 being billed as "winning the lotto".

I guess the side effect of it landed us the lotto balls to draft Yao Ming, but what a cluster****. Totally killed our depth.

 

I had been using the ESPN Rockets board. I didn't know CF existed. But the ESPN board became so lame, I started to look for something else and found ClutchFans.
