Preface: My list in based on the eye-test, and is not backed by concrete stats; however, I stand by what I have seen. Energy and effort on both sides of the ball. Unselfish play; willing to make the extra pass without being a "dribbler." An expanded rotation that helps the young guys get time to develop. Like above, making an effort to sign and play the younger guys. Boogie as a passer. EGODS comeback season. A great leader in Wall. Running more plays. The D....! More defense, especially perimeter. Wood's crazy versatility. The Wall resurgence. Tate's defense. These are just the things I noticed during tonight's game. I am sure there are more. Salud, Tomas. A few things I think could be changed or improved: a real sized PF who would help to compliment Wood. Improved transition D (seems way better recently, though). More involvement with Wood on Offense. More PnRs?
The one thing they are doing that passes the eyeball AND stat test is they are playing some unbelievable defense. Something everyone should like.
Just like any team it’s mostly about personnel. We have shifted from a roster that featured mostly elite offensive talent to one with mostly elite defensive talent.
Even if we don't play well, we are still sexy. Jontro is very happy that he will require very little lube.
i like harden not being on the team.. i like the ball movement i like players have chips on their shoulders did i mention? i like this team without harden....
I'm liking Silas. He's adding a bunch of 3's to his repertoire. He's a coach that is actually evolving as we see. I like that Stone isn't just sitting on his butt sitting comfortably. Stone seems consistently active trying to improve the team. I hope he finds a way to find a true building block for this Houston Franchise.
All those expirings running around on the court warms the heart. Really looking forward to a sub-$90 payroll. Yours, Fern T.
If everybody stays half ass healthy and we get like 6th seed, I see Silas getting coach of the year & Stone getting it being runner up for Executive of the year I think a culture reset is happening and we will get some widespread love and hype as a defensive team Wall is a true ****ing leader to usher in the next era
