Perry Farrell - Song Yet To Be Sung
I've always like Jane's Addiction... this latest solo effort from Perry is beat influenced, heavy on the techno/electronic groove.
A current favorite.

Tricky - Blowback
Long awaited new album. Excellent new stuff. Laced with guitars, guest vocalists, funky beats and hooks galore.

Gorillaz
From the brains of 'Tank Girl' illustrator Jamie Hewlett and Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, along with guest musicians like Damon Albarn from Blur and Del the Funky Homosapien, this CD is an excellent mix techno/rock/rap/funk/hip-hop/britpop/dance that will keep you groovin'

Nikka Costa - I don't know much about her, but after checking out the CD insert and listening to this CD it's become an instant favorite.

As a Peppers fan I've only heard "Girls." Is the rest any good.

Seeing the eccentric type of music Tricky plays, have you heard John Frusciante's solo album?

BTW I'm listening to 610 am.

Oh come on!

How much of a loser are you editing your post then saying you know how to spell it.

Well I guess I'll let you off this time.

Are yall joking about Led Zeppelin, or are you serious?

I'm listening to Sweet Tea from Buddy Guy. It's amazing to listen to a 65 year old wail like that.

Rock

The Perry Farrell is excellent, hasn't left my player all week!

What else?

CAKE's new one "Comfort Eagle"

Moby - "Play"

Basement Jax's new one "Rooty" - very groovy!

Guess I've been into the electronica lately!

I have some questions about Tricky...

1. Laced with guitars? I thought it was techno or whatever weird sounding thing that passes for music these days.

2. How come the guy from Tricky is so damn scary looking, one of the 3 most sinister looking people I have ever seen.

3. Wasnt it Tricky that said Stone Temple Pilots copied Sour Girl from him/them? Did you hear the song in question rockhead and if so does it sound like STP ripped it?

4. Oh yeah, are these guitars processed to point of shame?

And me, I just got Re-load from Metallica and thats what Im listening to, never was big on Metallica though. Oh and is Art Bell back on the air Lynus or is he still whining like a baby?

Yup, sounds like real guitars... or at least they were real when he sampled them.

2. How come the guy from Tricky is so damn scary looking, one of the 3 most sinister looking people I have ever seen.
You'll need to ask his Mum & Dad why he's so ugly. Who are the other two?

3. Wasnt it Tricky that said Stone Temple Pilots copied Sour Girl from him/them? Did you hear the song in question rockhead and if so does it sound like STP ripped it?
Not sure... will have to do more research

4. Oh yeah, are these guitars processed to point of shame?
some probably are, but they sound live to me...at least on some of the tracks

No way! I thought I was the only one around here that listened to Cake! I have Fashion Nugget, their first album, but haven't gotten around to get their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Are those any good?

It's a good thing that I'm not a star
You don't know how lucky you are
Though my record may say it
No one will play it
Sad songs and waltzes aren't selling this year

Definitely one of the most underrated bands out there now

A Train I LOVE CAKE!!!

Actually Fashion Nugget is their second CD

Motorcade of Generosity is their first.

I've got

Fashion Nugget
Prolonging the Magic - their 3rd
and the new one

I love the new one (though it's not as "radio friendly" as Nugget)

I think Nugget is the strongest Of the three that I have. But they are all fun!

BTW - my favorite cut off of Fashion Nugget is the title track "Nugget". Simply great!

Heads of state who ride and rangle
Look at your face for more than one angle
will cut you from their bloated budgets
like a sharpend knife through chicken mc nuggets.

Ah, shut the F**K UP!
