Yeah, Russ was far from the reason we lost last night, was almost the reason we won if we defended for one more second. As it is, it makes everyone forget the great game he had last night and his apparently new approach as he starts to fit into the team. I can't wait to get EGO back and see how all three mesh together.
Mmm...this seems like a distraction from the discussion point. The discussion wasn’t whether a star can produce next to Westbrook, they can. George is on pace to have his best season this year after his minutes go back up. OKC is playing like a .500 team. Swap Shai/Gallo for George/Grant and they would likely be a similar performing team to last season. The point is that it’s a misleading statement to say “look at how OKC did last season compared to now, therefore Westbrook is a much better impact player than Paul”.
Whatever they base it on, Westbrook has yet to get one despite playing with the likes Durant, Harden, George, prime Ibaka etc at one point or the other.
Neither has Cp3 though despite playing with the likes of Harden, Blake Griffin, De Andre Jordan, Kenyon Martin, Chauncey Billups, Grant Hill, Lamar Odom, Danny Granger at one point or the other. He even had it worse than WB as prior to meeting Harden and getting hard carried by him Cp3 hasnt even gotten past the 2nd round. WB at least tasted the Finals and WCF multiple times.
Recent one, doesn't have the speed, but smart ways to go to the rack. He is also a decent rebounder for his 6'0 frame.
CP3-lead Clipper team was the last WCF team to beat the Golden St. Warriors in the playoffs.... He at least beat them once.....
LOL...they beat the 50 win GS team led by Mark Jackson...not nearly the same level of team that the rest of the NBA had to face from 2015-2019
I hope the fact that we lost doesn't discourage westbrook to continued playing exactly how he did last night. If he does this, we will be really good, specially with EGO returning. Remember guys, season is long. Last night was a tough loss but the team is starting to mesh.
That’s a good point. The last thing we want is for him to start thinking that he needs to play hero ball for us to win. He made great decisions to close out that game. Passed when he should. Took it to the basket when he should. Shot a 3 he shouldn’t have shot but he made it. What he did last night was exactly what we need from him.
That’s it? Look, CP3 can still blow by his man but not as easily as WB. Both players have their pros and cons.
