I actually like this signing. The reason he ended up in the g league was maturity. He’s matured. The league has shifted in his favor. He has clear NBA level talent. He’s dominating the g league as you’d expect. The question to me is can he figure out switching defense and not be a complete liability there. But bear in mind folks this teams forwards before this signing consisted of PJ Tucker and Gary Clark. Lol
He's definitely worked on his body, ball-handling and right hand. I would have liked to see his jump shot, to see if he's improved his release.
We really should run a Faried, Green, and Jones lineup out there. See if we can't miss literally every defensive rotation.
Effort alone doesn’t keep you on NBA rosters. I don’t get the jump from a player being cut must mean their effort is inconssitent, there’s no direct connection there. Also I’m not saying Jones has or hasn’t had consistent effort, I don’t know, but citing his numbers says nothing about effort, that’s just telling us about production. So it looks like he’s had consistent production, effort, who knows, he might be putting effort in ways that get numbers, but not in ways that a playoff team might desire.
That would be hilarious if everyone in the stadium was chanting STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! when they announce him on the court the first time. Bill and Matt would be all confused Bill: The fans are real excited here at Toyota Center for the return of an old favorite Terrence Jones but I'm not sure what they are saying. Matt? Matt:. I'm not entirely sure Bill but what I can make out, it sounds like they are saying stomp. Does that mean anything to you Bill? Bill: (realizing the correlation) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You know Matt, Jones was once considered for the starting role here a few years back and if he can deliver a few solid performances has the opportunity to get some minutes in this rotation. Let's hope he can help the Rockets put together a win tonight against a hungry Lakers team fighting to make it into the playoffs! Crowd (STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!) Matt: It really sounds like they're saying stomp here Bill!
