All this boo boo about not getting number 1 is annoying.

this is the risk you take when tanking . Frankly stone’s gamble has worked out well .

if Rafa can’t make some hay with that then he deserves to be fired . It’s not been bad luck

Stone gambled and lost. Tanking for 3 years was not worth it. He could've at least tried to put together a competitive roster and would've gotten similar results in the draft.

And we could have won the #1 in 21, 22 and 23.

I guess we could tank again and be so bad we keep our pick like in 2021! :D

Maybe a good comparison is the Pistons. Would you rather go 1-5-5 or 2-3-4 ?

Huh? Normally competitive teams aren't picking high in the draft.

This franchise gambled for 3 years for the #1 overall pick and lost.

Cade, who still remains unclear if he'll be an all-star but looks great when he plays

Paolo, who is clearly going to be a future all-star barring injuries

Victor, who every scout in the league is labelling as the biggest thing since Lebron and every GM/player seems to believe it

Chances of the Rockets getting at least 1 top pick in 21, 22 or 23 is about 38%

Chances of drafting 5-6 three years in a row are actually way less than that, more like 11% or so.

Also, the fact that the Rockets managed to turn pick #2 and #3 into the 5-10th best players in their class hurts a lot more here.

Knee jerk much. It remains to b seen what green and smith career outlook will b like. We finally have a real coach and hopefully do trades to get a pg soon.

Sure, it remains to be seen. But they're not as good as advertised right now and are behind their peers - it's a simple fact that they're not, and this isn't freaking Las Vegas summer league we're talking about; Evan Mobley's making All-Defensive First Team. Banchero will probably be an all star soon.

Does anybody see that on the horizon next year for a current Rocket? The clock is ticking. Believe it or not, it really is.

yeah but we’ve literally drafted top 4 every year . So your point about drafting 5-6 , while true , is moot .

could we have reasonably hoped to get #1 once . Sure . But l take way more stock in your last point .

you don’t need the #1 to make good on your picks . So far ours haven’t produced wins at the desired level .

stone should be on the hot seat from tonight forward . I would put him on the hot seat even if we got #1
