We are on a dream ride because I truly believe we witnessing a once in a generation Rockets or even a NBA team so enjoy this dream ride.We are on track to be one of the best teams of all time but unfortunately we hit another all time great team in the Warriors.Anyway enjoy the ride because what we are experiencing most other fan bases will never see in their lifetime. A team with no egos, great chemistry an all time great offense and now a a good defense to boot.
The Warriors showed what a laughingstock the new CBA was in terms of restoring parity to the league. Whatever the response was to the Lebron Superfriends saga, it in no way deterred Durant from taking less money to hop on the team that won the most games in NBA history the season before. If Durant and the Warriors were Batman Begins then, these Rockets might be the reciprocal response in Dark Knight. This super team in Houston might not be an outlier but the new normal, especially if Lebron comes over. Kids these days (I say this being 32) don’t need to follow their local team. They are “NBA fans,” they take league pass and just casually watch the compelling matchups each night based on the superstars and their personalities. Under that context it’s completely reasonable to have only 3 championship contenders 10 good teams, and a bunch of also-rans beneath them. That’s how the EPL and La Liga are run. The Suns and Magic make enough through collective bargaining not to complain and just take their medicine. We should be happy as Rockets fans. From the viewpoint of emerging fans we are one of the “it” teams and will be one for at least the next five years.
We've still got a great shot. It's not easy to make 4 straight runs to the Finals. I know LeBron's done it, but the Heat were running on fumes by the time they got to the Finals for the 4th consecutive year. And then he had to switch teams and the jury's still out on whether or not they get back there this season.
If everyone is healthy and we continue buying into the team harmony and keep this up yeah no reason why we can’t challenge the Warriors.
After taking down the Warriors, we will be the once in a generation team that ends other once in a generation teams.
We have the best record in the league and we already beat the Warriors this year. What more can we do?
You're not wrong. But can you imagine how much better we would be if we traded Gordon for Rodney Hood or Will Barton and built our team around CP3?
Well, as an avid football fan, I strongly disagree about the EPL. They encourage parity by giving the prize money relative to the teams final position in the standings, so teams like Leicester City have a chance (even though very slim) to win it or qualify to the Champions League. For obvious reasons, "big teams" will always have the advantage, but it isn't nearly as bad as La Liga.
We aren't better than GS until we beat them in a seven-game series. If the Rockets are at full strength and they are at full strength, that will be tough to do, possible, but maybe not probable. If GS is nicked up a bit, I really like our chances. There is no other team I am concerned about. The Rockets can beat them all in a seven-game series. Injuries can change everything, just ask the Clippers or the Texans.
I hope our health persists.. I hope all the players remain injury free.. if we lose, we lose, but the houston franchise has struggled so much for so long, really want this dream ride to continue.. I am hoping we can actually find another gear and fine tune our offense, there are still moments we dont seem align.. Its scary that we are averaging 120 points on just 46% shooting and averaging 15 turn overs a game..
Generations must be getting shorter and shorter these days... This team is ridiculous, but I'm not sure it's once in a generation. We haven't even won a chip yet. Just in the past two decades, we have had 72 win Bulls with 6 chips, Kobe/Shaq with 3 chips, Heatles with 2 chips, 73 win Warriors with 2 chips. And this isn't even including the sporadically great Spurs who can seemingly interchange every piece and still win.
the good thing is they only see us three times a year, and the first time was really the first game and no one had their legs under them.. this means they probably wont enough time to fully figure us out.. lets hope
