That is what the Postseason is about! To figure out what team one is. Make or break. Injuries do play a role though.
Rockets in 5 / 6 We can't take them lightly but we will win series! More ZDOG videos!!! Worriers fans worried about rockets in 2nd round!!
This is the key - we need all hands on deck and ready to bring it. The championship is ours for the taking.
I don’t know how to feel about our team right now. I’m not excited. Maybe I’m putting way too much emphasize on that Thunder game. We had a healthy lead in the 4th and the game really mattered. No lie had we closed that out I’d be thinking championship. So one bad quarter shouldn’t change that but it does for me if I’m being honest. I also always had the notion that 2nd round, conference finals makes no difference; but it does. Maybe not for the right reasons but last year was a long and enjoyable season and going 7 games and knowing how much Cavs sucked it felt like we went as far as we possibly could. I will be in no mood to watch two more rounds if we exit in the 2nd round. I will certainly be bitter.
After that loss to the Thunder, I dropped my expectations again. Not because we played badly, but because we played well and still weren't good enough to put away the game against a lower seed playing well on its home court. I expect us to beat the Jazz and then go out in the semis against the Warriors. But, weirdly, I don't feel bad or disloyal about having lost the expectation of a making it to the WCF. I feel like anything we accomplish will be a delightful surprise, and I'll cheer it all. Go Rockets!!!
I look at a potential second round Warriors matchup as a positive. Somehow we always get some kind of ridiculous impactful injury in or near the playoffs. The earlier we face them, the less chance there is of that derailing our team. It has to happen sometime, so why not earlier. It will define our playoffs and any other series pretty much meaningless. Bring it. But, I'm not looking past the Jazz yet. Rockets have to take every game seriously.
I'm replenishing my supply of optimism and will be ready by the time game 1 rolls around. I'm going to reconstruct my little table with the Jerry Lin bobble head with his feet sticking out of a bowl of Cheerios (reverse juju), my little bronze Buddha I've had for 50 years, dig out my incense holder and buy some fresh incense ready to light, and some other stuff I have that I'm convinced will produce massive amounts of good juju aimed at our heroes from my house in Southwest Austin. It almost worked last season. We came close. I'm trying to think of what I could add to it. This might help...
The scary thing about the Rockets is that they can BEAT ANYBODY on any given occasion and they can LOSE to ANYBODY on any given occasion. They run hot and cold. They are not consistent, and they don't adjust well to adversity. One thing is clear, no lead is safe. They can lose them all.
