I thought this was an interesting little note y'all might enjoy . . . I went to a new dentist this morning, and while I was getting my teeth cleaned, she started talking to the guy who runs the practice. Turns out he is the Rockets' dentist and he just did a lot of work on Steve Francis. Apparently Steve came in a wanted an All-Star smile now that he's gonna be on national television! I didn't get to see the before and after X-Rays because I was in the chair the whole time, but the whole staff was really impressed with the differences. The lady who was cleaning my teeth couldn't believe it, and she kept saying that the dentist shouldn't have done all that work by himself because it took him over 2 1/2 hours to do the job. The dentist said that really Steve needs braces, but this was a good quick fix. Anyway, they told me to look for his work at the next game, so see if Steve smiles tonight (if migraines aren't killing him).
Maybe Steve has TMJ which causes the blood flow to the head to be constricted and causes severe headaches (my mom had it bad). Has he ever had his wisdom teeth taken out?
Actually, the lady who was cleaning my teeth (she's a pro, told me she'd been at that practice for 20 years and obviously knew her dental hygienics really well), mentioned the thing about Steve's headaches and that it was possible they could be connected to something with his teeth or mouth. She was saying that there's lots of different things that can go wrong in the mouth which will cause things to go wrong in the rest of the body, and headaches are one of them. I'm sure the Rockets are considering that possibility as well. It's probably going to take them a while to pinpoint it though.
Rocket Freak, just for the record, TMJ does not obstruct blood flow to the head. It has to do with the temporal-mandibular joint, hence the name TMJ.
TMJ My wife is a TMJ sufferer and it is an extremely painful problem. It is a nerve causing the problem, not blood flow.
What is the quick fix? How do they straighten your teeth so fast? I have heard some crazy stories like they cap your teeth with fake teeth and grind down your real teeth? Is that crap true? Man I hate the Dentist. It is like being on Fear Factor everytime I go.
My father had something like that -- he used to get headaches a lot . . . they'd come and go, and eventually (long story short), he got a bottom front tooth removed. Apparently, the minute the dentist cut the vein to the tooth, it shot out of his mouth, up into the ceiling. He hasn't had a problem with headaches since.
What was wrong with his teeth in the first place? As long as he has all 32 and scores 30+ pts its all good
I don't care if Steve has any teeth at all...I just want him to score, rebound, assist, defend and other stuff....
Yeah, what was wrong with his grill in the first place. Not that I care but the subject was brought up so might as well ask the question.
You guys have never seen Steve's grill??? It's HORRIBLE. Actually, his top left and center are ok, but his top right side is nasssssssssty. All crooked and jumbled up. You would think someone with so much money would spend some cash to get it fixed earlier, but nooooooooo. Probably too caught up with spending cash on Drewdog's girl.
I told them I'd never noticed anything wrong with his teeth, but they assured me they were in bad shape. I did overhear the dentist saying that he had teeth missing, and that he had used some laminates to help fix him up. They can do all sorts of things now with porcelain bonding and everything, I see those ads everytime I go to the dentist.
And now, in a total suspension of personal diplomacy: Memo to Steve: After the mouth work, look up a cosmetic surgeon to fix that "Life in Hell" face. P.S. to Eddie -- when we max you out at the end of your rookie deal, go out and treat yourself to a chin.

I wonder if Steve has ever had his wisdom teeth taken out? There just isn't enough room for those extra chicklets. Sorry about the blood flow - TMJ thing....My mom had it 15 years ago and the migraines were unbearable and so was my sack lunch for a while! She got a mouth piece and braces and then never had another problem with it.
