I honestly can't believe there's even a single American who believes the US military didn't know Iran would try to do what it has publicly declared for 47 years would be its immediate strategy in case of an attack.

During a war, the podium is not a place of transparency. It's not reasonable to expect that. It's a podium for information warfare plain and simple. As much as I despise the people on that podium, you can't fault them for engaging in information warfare during a war.

Total BS, no regular Iranian would risk making such a communication right now.

These tips are being called in by Mosad and CIA agents. Some of them could be Iranians like the traitors in Operation Ajax who brought about Khomeini's regime.

I know a lot of Iranians in the USA against the current Iranian regime and have known some Iranians from Iran against the regime as well -- but the reality is that almost all Iranians are not stupid, and have no desire to be killed by missiles from the USA or Israel or drones from the current Iranian regime... it is all out survival, like a rabbit frozen hiding in the brush, make no noise or movement and maybe survive.

I find all of it fake anyway. Iranians not in Iran left for the same reason the Cubans left Cuba - they were dissidents of the revolutionary regimes. Most of them have also been in the USA for nearly 50 years-- they are Americans at this point. Iranians in Iran largely don't like some of the restrictions they deal with, but are not foolish enough to believe that some savior will change the world.... and the USA, Israel and the governments in the Middle East really don't give a **** about the people of Iran.... it is the harsh reality. Fox News and OAN can talk about US liberation, but that is a farce - as is some of the Middle Eastern rulers that talk of their "Iranian" brothers while they sit on their hands.

    100%

In Iran they do HOPE that this works but rich people are in their beautiful farms in the north or have already evacuated. They are not allowing their kids to go out and they didn't during the recent protests.

They have obtained a second citizenship a long time ago - mostly Dominica, Antigua/Barbuda, etc. They have backup plans and funds.

The thought process in Iran is: it will ultimately be easier to depose an Israeli puppet than it has been to depose the maniac mullahs.

They are, unfortunately, very wrong. Deposing an American and Israeli backed king is the absolute hardest revolution on planet earth. It's much more sophisticated, forceful and professional repression. It never gets to the point of street protests because they police you in your home.

I understand it though. They're so tired Nook. So damn tired of these damn mullahs who have made their lives dark and gloomy and strict. They are only fully themselves in their homes and with people who they trust to bring into their homes. It's as though they've been living underground for half a century.

I can't fault them for thinking "maybe anything is better than this". It's very easy for me on the outside to tell them to care more about sovereignty based on my experience because I haven't fully experienced those 47 years of depression.

We have officers that spend thousands of hours warplanning for every scenario (especially for Iran). Nothing about what Iran is doing is surprising anyone (other than perhaps how they are shooting missiles at random neighbors).

True. And yet, not prepared. It's not the military officers or military experts that are the problem. It's the TV talk show host running the DoD, the I-KNOW-IT-BEST commander-in-chief, the realtor and the real estate developer running sensitive negotiations that are the problem.

Hegseth: "We will keep pushing, keep advancing. No quarter, no mercy for our enemies."

Uh, that's a straight up crime under US and international law. From the Manual for Military Commissions:

    From the Hague Conventions:

Hegseth declared No Quarter. There is no subtle meaning to his words that can be offered up to suggest the opposite. That makes him an international and national war criminal and incontrovertibly so.

Now, you can argue that he's an idiot and has no real understanding of the words he throws around, but as every cop who has talked to me at a traffic stop says, "ignorance is no excuse."

Do you feel better now that Trump has said the war will end when he feels it in his bones?
