I lol'ed its a high school game I guess you cant really expect more out of that kid who "fumbled" the ball but I give props to that Jeff guy for having the presence of mind to know that it was a fumble and run it back in for a TD. edit: to the poor kids credit Vincent Jackson did something like that his rookie year, made a catch went to the ground but wasnt touched then got up and spun/spun the ball in celebration. Officials bailed him out saying he was down by contact but replays clearly showed otherwise

Leon Lett worthy Rocket River BTW - Why is it a TD and not 2 pts? Could the kid that caught it ran back for a TD?
It was a FG attempt, not a 2 point conversion or PAT. Yes, the kid could have ran it back for a TD, I believe Cromartie did it a couple years back.
Longest play in NFL history to be exact. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cdWsp8WAzgM&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cdWsp8WAzgM&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Too bad that wasn't the only record broken that night as Adrian Peterson ran for 296 yards on us
That is not correct .. Vincent Jackson got up and spiked the ball forward. The refs made the correct call that it was an incomplete, illegal forward pass. He was just lucky that he spiked it forward and not backward where it would have been a fumble. But yes, the same principle applies and the kid shouldn't feel too bad.
Cougars win! Cougars win! What's worse is that the pass that set up the FG/touchdown play looks like it was probably incomplete. It's hard to see and they obviously don't have replay, but I think the ball popped out and hit the ground before the receiver eventually recovered it.
Rookie season, Plaxico Burress spiked it after making a first down with a falling catch. Refs ruled that he was downing the ball. (Think it was vs. Baltimore, but I could be wrong.)
It was either Baltimore of Jacksonville, and he got up and spun the ball down on the ground. Defense recovered and it was called a fumble. Vincent Jackson play was virtually the same exact situation but of course the refs found a way to screw the Raiders.
Turns out it was Jacksonville. Wow, was it really a fumble? My mind is toying with me. I would have sworn the refs made the ruling that it was an intentional downing. But, if I can't remember who they played, no reason to think my other memories on the matter would hold water. The steelers still won at least.
I remember the play very vividly and I remember it being against Jacksonville, but unless I'm completely off-base they called it a fumble. It was all over the highlight shows that day/night.
