Sad to admit, but the last nba game I picked up and played was 2k7.....and I haven't been on my game like I should be, considering I grew up on these games and hoops and urban Ish and whatnot. (mostly cause I was po' old college student and didn't really have the time and money to get my first ps3 till my Sr year)

But now this mofo is jumping back on the game! But the problem is that , of course I'm sorta caught in a bad time now, where 2k13 is coming out later this year and 2k12 has been out for a couple of months now. So just wondering, should I save and wait for 2k13, or just pick up 2k12 and keep it till next years' iteration and just stick to dl'ing updated rosters and whatnot?

Id say at this point, you might as well wait until the next game

Buy 2k11 for cheap, then buy 2k13 when it comes out.

Man, I've played religiously all the 2k games since 2k6 (with 2k9 being my favorite).... Although, since 2k10, there seems to be too many animations taking over, that I sometimes feel as if I'm not playing. I've gotten used to it, I suppose since I kind of like 2k12. It's pretty cheap now (I think it is $30 retail). 2k13 won't be out until late October.

i was playing as houston and i had a fast break with dragic and big baby out ran me and blocked me 0__0 so your best option is 2k11>2k12

So why is 2k11 so decidedly better? Did the mechanics/motion capture animation change for the worse or something? I know the lockout prevented them for updating new rookies in time for 2k12, but I'm assuming you can still update it by dl'ing rosters. Is 2k11 still being supported and updated?

Unless I'm wrong, I think they meant 2k12, not 2k11?

Nah -- most 2k fans prefer 11 over 12. They really f'd with things in 12 in terms of the games speed, dynamics and player size/speed/etc having TOO much of an impact on gameplay. Also the HOF mode difficulty when playing is almost TOO difficult; you literally have to play perfect ball to beat any team, whether its the Heat or the Bobcats. Also the foul calls in the lane on drives are ridiculous.

I've bought both and if it wasn't for having the ability to play as the legendary teams of Hakeem, Shaq, MJ, Pip, Clyde, Wilt, etc i would still be playing 2k11.

I'm finally approaching the playoffs in my 2k12. I have about 1 month left in the game before I go into the playoffs. The game takes forever. I say wait for 2k13.

Play Mass Effect 3 in the meantime.

Like every one said, buy 2k11 and wait til Black Friday to buy 2k13, it's usually $30 at that time.

I say buy 2k12 now. In my opinion, it's a more fun game to play in recent years then before (2k9 being my favorite). It's easier to score this year so you have to focus more on defense. You should be able to play it for cheaper now too. Why wait?
