Nah man the idea that you are white and therefore better off, in some cases, doesn't logically tie together to is racism OK or not, and somehow negate it or excuse it. You're making an emotional plea with your feelings on this subject, but it's not rational at all. The key idea of not being racist is either observed or not. There isn't an exception.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Where Is the Outrage Over Anti-Semitism in Sports and Hollywood?
The Hollywood Reporter columnist calls out the hateful outbursts against Jews by Ice Cube, DeSean Jackson and others and explains how the muted response "perpetuates racism" and contributes to an overall "Apatholypse."

Why do you have shame since you didnt do it?

Everyone's ancestors were slaves at some point and slavery exists and existed in Africa too

Hate speech and racism is reprehensible no matter what target they have.

Pretty clear cut case. Given what people are getting fired for these days, this is more of a footnote.

I will say this...the African Slave Trade was QUITE different than previous forms of slavery and is very unique to history.

It came with a lot of pseudosciences that are still around to this day and its whole intent was to make Africans seem lesser and excuse the slavery. It doesn't help to just compare it to other forms of slavery which usually involved one group of people beating another group of people in war or something else and taking them as slaves.

This was you're a slave because of who you are and you'll always be a slave because of who you are. Your kids will be a slave. Your grandkids, etc etc.

While we can sit and laugh at Nick's stupidity, if you listen to white racists a lot of their information comes from the pseudoscience that surrounded the slave trade. There's a lot of self-hate in the African diaspora because of it, just look at people from Caribbeans as some of them, looking as black as ever, will openly deny having any African within them or downplay it.

Africans were making their enemies as slaves and selling them off for resources, and in the case of W.Africa, the slavery there was very...different. It also increased dramatically because of the demand.

I guess my point is, a lot of other cases of slavery are not as impactful in modern times because they did not have pseudoscience attached to them. It was just, oh, these people were unfortunate to become slaves. The pseudoscience that surrounded the slave trade made it so that these people deserve to be slaves.

That's it exactly and shows that all people are not immune from the charms of people who tell them what they want to believe.

I had no idea this was as prevalent as it was and I am very surprised Ice Cube is still thinking this way.

They all deserve to be cancelled if we are gonna use the rules that cancel culture has established.
