I think we're more a nation of red and blue counties, heck neighborhoods, than states.

If you want the urban / music / club scene...Montreal's probably your best bet with a side trip to Quebec city. If you're without kiddies...could be the way to go.

If you're more into nature / quaintness quiet and close to Cape Cod, then PEI / Nova Scotia would be my choice.

Western Canada's my home, but suggesting you go there since you're in Cape Cod anyway...is like suggesting you swing by Boston from Seattle.

bump. i will prolly check out montreal this august, as it's relatively close to cape cod, but nothing is set in stone. that said, i'm not totally opposed to flying out of boston to vancouver for three or four days. more importantly, we've been thinking for some time about, maybe, maybe, just maybe, leaving NYC to try something new. bc is at the top of the list. what is the visual arts scene like?
